Definitely, why are they basically cutting his balls off in the middle of the season, when City are going for the title. What kind of message does it send to the players too? "Well you aint gotta worry about this c**t, he's out on his ear in the summer anyway". Especially since Pellegrini has done pretty well under City, could end up with 2 league titles in 3 seasons with City, AND they could still theoretically do the treble. Craziness.
Scratch that, they could do the quadruple! They are in the Carling cup final aswell!! Forgot about that. Can you imagine if they won all 4 trophies and he gets sacked!! ****ing nuts
I think there's a difference between being sacked and not having your contract renewed. I think they've gone about it with dignity tbh. Everyone knows where they stand, and it's clearly been going on behind the scenes - so why keep the players and fans waiting? The players now know. Both men know. We all know. No need for rubbish rehashed media crap that can influence everyone's thinking and behaviour. Good business, done and dusted.
One down, and so it begins - Simeone, Pellegrini, Jose (and LVG) all on the market at once. When the music stops where do we think they will be. I'm going for left field - Pellegrini to Athletico Madrid, Simeone to us and Jose to PSG.
It should have been Jose to United a month ago if we were waiting to find out about Pep. Without giving anything away he would have told Woody in no uncertain terms that he had agreed a contract elsewhere. At which point I caan only imagine Woody went into Mission Impossible mode and thought he could still get him to sign. I wouldnt be surprised if Pep hasnt released this story early just to get Woody off his frickin' back. All of which makes me think we have no plans to go for Jose. Which is a shame tbh.
If the board now fails to get Jose, I would seriously be pissed! I've read people say that the board may not want Jose because it would be a short term fix. Well, not getting Jose and continuing as-is or thinking Giggs is the solution would show they are more interested in long term damage and no fixes.
Red somewhere that the glazers are going through a cost cutting exercise mainly at the academy.. you'd hope that perhaps they've agreed for VG to **** off in the summer mutually thusly saving them from sacking him and paying him off.
Would 18 months on LVG's contract be that much compared to losing out on CL? I also think we had Jose over a barrel when he left Chavbus. We could have dictated terms. The longer this saga plays out the more Jose's hand gets stronger in any future deal. So in effect it could end up costing United more.
