...at least six teams will be worse off
Than us, when May thirteen comes round,
At which no-one really can scoff
A great end result pound for pound,
An enjoyable ride it has been
And not really bumpy at all,
New places and pastures we´ve seen
While keeping our foot on the ball

...all three of the promoted teams
Could come from the southernmost half,
Of England, which does, by no means
Any harm on our travelling path,
For although the Yellow Army
Will follow wherever we go,
The nearer home, the less barmy
The victory songs that will flow

...the chase to end third in our league
Will go to the very last kick,
But which of the three will succeed
For that last Euro spot´s hard to pick,
We could just have a part to play
When visiting the Emirate bowl,
A point or more would, I dare say
Leave Wenger feeling rather cold

..the scrap to escape going down
Is still a wide open affair,
Just who will join Wolves, playing Town
Next year, is yet an unknown pair,
But had I to pick three to stay
Of those five still deep in the mire,
´Twould be Wigan, Bolton, I´d say
With Villa, but it´ll go to the wire

...in the goalkeeper battle between
Our two ex-City number ones,
That´s Marshall for Cardiff, and Green
That Green was less fingers and thumbs,
So West Ham take a two goal lead
Into the return play-off tie,
Malky will do well indeed
But he always was never-say-die

...this summer will be just as frantic
As last year, and perhaps more so,
As fees, again equally gigantic
Will force many deals to forego,
But PL will tread his own path
Where doing of deals are concerned,
No fear he´ll leave an aftermath
Of debt, when all bridges are burned

...I´ll very soon now, take a break
To prepare for our year number two,
But no putting feet up, and cake
With an Alsatian puppy to view,
We´re picking him up Tuesday morn
A bundle of fluff he is now,
But we know that from the acorn
The giant oak will soon grow.

If I don´t get much more of a chance before the end of the season, here´s wishing you all a great summer. Relax, recharge the batteries, enjoy yourselves, and come back raring to go for the next instalment.

Yours, rbf :)

A mighty fine ode sir, as you say, two of the downs are impossible to call, though I think your pick is the more likely.

Disappointing for Malky but the Cardiff fans must be used to failing in the play-offs by now, it seems to be an annual feature!

Good luck with your pup, watch where you tread for a while <yikes> and have a wonderful Summer break yourself sir!

<cheers>

We shall watch our step Dave, have a feeling he´s going to be a handful, but he´ll be the fifth one we´ve had over the years, so we know what to expect. ;)
