The Allams don't seem to see that the Premier League is the brand we are marketed with, if they let the PL do the work 3 years ago we probably wouldn't be in this mess.
Daft reader's comment in the HDM. Amazingly it's got 8 thumbs up: No matter. We have struck the Iceberg and we shall plummet to the depths of the Football League. The CTWD and Supporters Trust started this civil war and I hope they will be happy watching The Tigers play North Ferriby United for a real 3 pts. Just give it time. Then there's this comment which seems very sensible yet currently has 6 thumbs down: This is probably the worst organised transfer window of my lifetime, the season kicks off next week and we have 13 fit players, no new players and no permanent manager. Leicester city the team that just slotted two goals past Barcelona will destroy the club in this state. Sunderland didn't **** about appointing Moyes. The Allams should have already had a plan in place if Bruce left, clearly they did not otherwise wed have a manager and another 6 players at the club by now.
The attempt to change the name was the worst thing the Allams have done, in my opinion. We should have all had their cards marked from that moment on.
here's a list of the **** - not sure name change comes out on top threaten to leave Hull for Melton removal of Jonny Whiteley pictures Airco Full price for kids and oaps name change/ removal of City from all correspondence forced seat moves telling the fans they could die charging full price for disabled fans diverting the away fans money ****ing up the sale lying about leaving and selling changing the badge refusal to liaise with fans telling everyone hes a British owner and telling Sportpesa he's Egyptian donating to Labour, then donating to the Tories and then wanting to donate to the breakaway Labour party - make your ****ing mind up making up some bullshit story about fake dollars and the bank giving him £20 for trying to defraud them - yeah right refusing to give the players an open top bus celebration ****ing up Andy Dawson's testimonial pretending he's dying when he's not - you **** I'm sure I've missed some out
Promising a link up with Al Ahly after the Port Said disaster. We were to offer them a friendly and the proceeds would go to the families who suffered. They would also use our training facilities while their league was suspended. None of this ever happened.
Which actually is worse because that was a genuine tragedy that we pledged to help out in and didn't.
It's incredible when you actually list it all together, that even now there are mongs who still think he's ace, and until a few weeks ago there were many more.
It wouldn't have mattered how much they pumped into the club they would never get a majority to support a name change.
To be fair.... I don't think a lot of people give a hoot... there are a lot of ill (sick) supporters of this club.
So, looking back, with the benefit of hindsight; what part of rebranding was commercially, culturally or morally clever? If they had of researched better and imposed a different spin, it was always a bad idea. Unless you're Happy in a Chazz kind of a way, it was and is always moronic to piss in the face of your customers.
