Well done, again you have found some stats...
i Refer you to post 28... at least he is doing it ..new stadium new training ground. building a team ..i'll rephrase that bit..he is backing manager and they are trying to balance building a new team with younger players austin, Phillips (so I would say he is learning) and trying to get back to the Premier League.
    Two simple questions.
    1. Do you think our future looks better than it has done for a long time?
    2. Again..whats the alternative to TF?

Nice try Loomo, but you are attempting to enquire logically, where there is none

1 - off the pitch it looks great, on the pitch it looks terrible. An average age of 30+ will mean 15 players in every summer and that's not good when 80% of our older players we signed have been useless in one way or another.

2 - we need a football man as technical director or DOF, not TF and beard deciding managers and transfers. Maybe someone like Venables or Francis.

If there were ever any doubts about his motives they were quashed once and for all when he made a post last season saying the three players he'd definitely keep after the inevitable squad cull would be Adel Taarabt, Samba Diakite and Armand Traore.

    Hardly coincidental.

Can't disagree with point 2. Would act as a good buffer and experienced ear
Point 1 though still not answered. He is bringing in younger players he has said this is a long term policy. However, he is trying to balance that with backing a manager who was touted as the next England manager and so far it's not a disaster. Do you think the future is brighter under TF?

No, not until we get another manager. We are still going backwards on the pitch.
Surely you've seen that with the standard of football getting worse while we have the oldest squad in the league because the manager can't coach or do tactics.

You really need to give it a rest mate.

Jesus Christ.....................I'm not sure I've ever encountered such negativity.

Ok that's your opinion. I disagree as I'm not just basing it one one factor. Your beef seems to be more with Harry than TF. I'm sure a lot of chairmen would have taken harry on. I would tend to wait and see where we end up in May. We have a chairmen who has a clear long term vision for our club hence the investment into the training and academy. So for me the future does look bright what ever bumps we hit on the way

We're third in the league and odds on for promotion, been in the top 4 all season with the best defence in the league...
How the F**K can that be going backwards ffs?!
Are you saying we were better than that last season? because if so then you are seriously deluded.

I can't stand the manager but TF appointed him and Hughes and sanctioned 4.5m for zamora, 1m for henry, 6.5m for SWP, giving AJ 40k a week, giving barton a 12m contract, the GK farce.

All, massive, massive mistakes. Let's see if he's learned this window and see if we get another Philips/Austin like signing or some has been on 5x the wages he should be on.

Not really, I've praised the Philips and Austin signings. I'll moan about **** signings and be happy about good signings but the fact is we've made more **** signings than good signings proved by our vastly overpaid, ageing and underperforming squad.

Were you dancing in the streets when we signed Zamora and henry?

One more question honest. Prior to the appointment of both Hughes and Harry do you not think from TF point of view they had good credentials?

I never wanted either of them. I didn't like Warnock either but I thought he'd do a good job but wanted him sacked as soon as we went up because the was a proven failure in the PL.

Hughes is a horrible bloke and I think the best thing I said about him was at least he did well at his previous clubs,in no way did I think he'd be good for us.
as for redknapp, living in saints country hasn't left me with a good impression of him, especially when he relegated them and then jumped ship.

I've never rated Zamora and pretty sure I would have said that at the time. I was ok with signing Henry as I believed we needed his type of player. He has looked very poor though and I'd rather we still had Derry.

Then you add in the useless SWP, 4 games a season AJ, the mad Mbia and Diakite, the finished Park, the benched Cesar and other and its very easy to think our transfer policy is a joke, weve had more bad signings than good which is some achievement considering the money we spent.

It is certainly a list, not to be proud of, add in Bosingwa, Dyer, etc

But then how many of these had the ill-fated hand of Hughes written all over them.

But TF and Beard still had to sign off on those. He gave the manager total backing when he shouldnt have. I think I remember him learning and saying no more over the hill players.

All of us knew at least half of those players would fail. Is anyone going to own up and say they thought Zamora would be good for us, Dyer wouldnt last or AJ wouldnt be injured for 75% of the season?
If we all knew they were bad signings at the time, the men signing the deals should have known. Same goes for the GK farce, he should have said no to Cesar.

I didnt include the likes of Hoilett as I dont blame them for that, he should have been a good transfer but that was until we turned his hamstrings into chewing gum.

I know how you feel about it. I asked do you not think from TF perspective that both had good football credentials?

Not redknapp, he relegated saints and jumped ship, he could only spend loads of money and was more suited to england. It was well known he couldn't coach and thought tactics were unimportant. There's also the dodgy side of him.

Hughes should have done better but he's not a nice bloke so it always had the potential to go tits up.

Fat Sam has got good football credentials, would you want him?

The fact is they are two terrible appointments on world class wages and we are in a worse position than we were under Warnock.
