Does the City need narcissists who go around telling us how wonderful they are ? A truly altruistic person would not go on about what they have done & would let those actions speak for themselves
To show Hull Tigers would attract £2K he would have to show that the £2K would not have been attracted as Hull City AFC. Which will be difficult.
Assem Allam will only win if he can persuade the FA and the Premier League to agree to the change. They will require a lot more than some research that says Hull City will get less income than Hull Tigers to introduce American style names into this country. They will require evidence that fans have been consulted. Assem Allam has promised a wide consultation exercise with the fans. Which gives us the opportunity to say No. We are in almost the same position we were in on Thursday, the club needs the approval of the FA and the Premier League to change our name. The one change is that Assem Allam is talking to all the fan groups and has made two promises. Firstly that the name change will not go ahead if there is no financial benefit. Secondly that if the club intends to change the name there will be wide consultation with the fans. On the basis of our campaign so far I would say that the fans reaction will be to remain Hull City AFC if we are ever given a vote. On the first question who in their right minds would demand we change our name before investing any money in the club. Being in the Premier League and staying there is what will attract income from abroad not lengthening our name from Hull City to Hull Tigers.
At the games I've been to so far, apart from a smallish hard core there is general apathy regarding the name change, with about a 50/50 split among those who express an opinion, but with around 60-70% who really don't care. On that basis with only 15% really opposed to the change I have no doubt the Allams would consider they have the moral high ground for the change
But what would he need to do if the propsed change were simply to The Tigers, with the loss of Hull from the name as well ?
Tiny steps !! Not much from Hull Tigers to simply The Tigers !! Get away with one & The Tigers franchise becomes an attractive business option as long as we remain in the Premiership
I thought it had something to do with the council , seems like he has very very strong feelings about how all that turned out
You can twist that how you like. I've only spoken to 2 people who are in favour a small group who don't care but the vast majority are against but only a few of those against have done anything about it. Just because that's the people i have spoken to doesn't mean you could extrapolate that to be a fair view of all fans
It doesn't matter what ground they think they stand on, its the opinion of the FA and Premier League that counts. If Assem Allam thinks he'll get the name change through he'll ask them, if he doesn't, and it'll cost him money, he won't. I'm sure you've asked thousands of people what they think in your survey because anything less isn't representative of what City fans think. April's a long way away and there's many a slip......
Last night Dr Allam castrated the NTHT campaign. The threat of organised disruption and widespread anger from fans against his aims has now abated. Time will see more supporters accept Hull Tigers and last night he bought an unlimited amount of time. By outlining only a vague proposition (with no deadlines or specific financial parameters) he has the AFCs under full control. Men against boys.
Someone asked earlier, don't know if there was a response, I haven't checked The giant flag will be unveiled today.
How so....lose the Hull & the Tigers franchise could be moved anywhere in the UK, from Melton to Melton Mowbray, anywhere they don't have Premiership football !! Glasgow Tigers anyone ?
Cheers Ben, that would be me. That also answers the important part of my question, that the campaign will carry on,until there is an acceptable outcome. I really hope we win (CTWD) as i don't want to stop going to the games,it's what i do. And off i go again, Come on City...
