i don't believe decisions even out - i believe they have for us this season. they don't always - poor old qpr have had more poor decisions go against them than in their favour this year. ask their fans if they even out...
offside is an infringement - its not a foul. if it were it would go on the foul count, not the offside count. handball gets tallied on the foul count...
I was more incensed by his reckless tackle which under different circumstances would and should have been a straight red
i don't dispute that on another day with another ref he could have been sent off. it was the refs call and clearly he felt that it was a derby match and it was early on and decided on just yellow. some of your players bundled in with fists flailing too so it could have got very messy. he also missed priskin's vicious elbow in the first half but no doiubt you missed that too . but all your fans have consistently labelled him a cheat, yet you agree with cheating when its to benefit your own club.
Don't agree supers, while i can see where you are coming from. all i'm saying is there is plenty that goes against you like offsides and handball so if you can nick one now and again you do it, just as long as if you get caught you take the punishment.
but you didn't answer the question, if you knew you were offside, would you stop and admit it? or would you carry on and score?
fair enough, decisions go against you, but punching the ball in the net in the final minute to win a match is a bit different from scoring an offside goal in the last minute. he made a conscious decision to cheat and then celebrated as if he'd won the world cup. not that it really matters now... who does he even play for nowadays?
whilst i agree in principal, you don't definitively know you are offside 99 times out of 100. you might feel it, generally you do know, but its totally different to what you're saying
If you're watching play you wouldn't necessarily know that you were offside! That's why you're instructed to play to the whistle!
um, i don't know. i've never known 100%!! if i've been through and felt offside i've always had a quick look to see if the lino flags but that didn't happen very often!! in any case, i used to miss anyway... its a tough one but to compare it with blatant cheating is silly. there's a massive gulf.
There are times when you just know that you are offside and as a player you would be try to get an advantage by being right on the line, and i believe you would be doing your team an injustice if you stopped so whats the difference with a handball?
You wouldn't deliberately stand offside to receive the ball because you know that's what the lino is supposed to be looking for, but punching the ball into the net is 100% deliberate and cheating!
i think you're fighting a losing battle on this one guru. there is always an element of doubt in an offside decision - its such a conscious decision to punch a ball in the net to win a match because you can''t reach it legitimately
imagine the scenerio, you have just had the corner it has been cleared and the defence runs out, you DELIBERATELY stay on the edge of the six yard box it gets played in and you place the ball in the net. Now you know that you are clearly offside and the lino and ref miss it. what do you do? is it. A - turn and celebrate wildly B - go to the ref and say i know i was offside rule the goal out
but your 'incident' doesn't work. there would still be doubt because anything could have happened. you'd probably be surprised but unless you were somehow facing the goal at the time and 'scorpion kicked' it in, you wouldn't know definitively whether you were onside or not! someone may be down injured behind you, there could be someone out of your line of vision playing you on. even in that case, you wouldn't have known when the ball was played unless you also have eyes in the back of your head... basically, what i'm saying is you're talking ****e guru - totally pointless trying to defend a deliberate handball goal. had it hit his arm accidentally and gone in then you might have a case as it could be deemed accidental correctly by the officials
