QPR are yet to officially announce the capture of Mauricio Isla on loan, but the Chilean has already been snapped wearing the shirt of his new club. Mauricio Isla rose to prominence during his five-year spell at renowned talent-developers Udinese, signed by the Zebrette after an impressive performance at the 2007 U-20 World Cup. Juventus saw fit to snap up the Chilean for themselves two years ago having witnessed his exploits in Serie A first hand in what looked a brilliant move for the Old Lady. The energetic wing-back, however, has struggled since putting pen to paper with the Bianconeri. Just 18 starts in the Italian top flight in two seasons with Juventus make for ugly reading, and the club have decided a change of scenery could help Isla rediscover the brilliance of his Udinese days. Juventus director general Beppe Marotta divulged at the weekend that the 26-year-old will ply his trade in the Premier League this season, a loan deal having been struck with QPR. But despite Isla already having taken his medical with the R’s and Marotta’s confirmation, the move is yet to be officially announced. Still, QPR fans have been given a sneak preview of their new signing in the club’s shirt - the Chilean having tweeted out a picture of himself at Loftus Road that was quickly deleted. An accompanying message read: “Starting a new stage on my career. Happy for being a new QPR player.” Reports in the Italian media state that the deal is complete and will be announced soon, after which Isla will likely get the chance to post a permanent introduction to his new fans on social media. Should the Chilean - who made four appearances at the World Cup in Brazil - find his vintage form in west London, QPR supporters will certainly enjoy seeing more of him in the club’s jersey. Isla’s loan deal is said to contain an option for the R's to sign him permanently next summer should he impress - something he’ll be keen to do after a pair of lacklustre terms in Turin. Can Isla get back to his best in the Premier League with QPR? http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014...ational-poses-in-qpr-shirt-ahead-of-anticip/?
Following on from the conspiracy theory - this might just be a stunt double to save TF a bit of embarrassment.
Apparantly it's happened before if Ian J Taylor is to be believed. IanJTaylor @IJTaylor81 I remember Darren Ambrose posed with a @QPRFC shirt on a while ago ... Can only push the button when things are OFFICIAL ha ha #QPR
I am suprised as I thought this loan went through yesterday. I hope this is only a formality linked to international clearance, etc.
According to David Mac on twitter, we're waiting for a Governing Body Endorsement form to be approved - this is the bit where it's stated that he played 75% of internationals for his country (not a problem, as he played in 17 of 20) over the past two years, and that the country is ranked 70th or higher (Chile are 12th). It can take 24 hours to get this ratified apparently, so it's a matter of when, not if.
It'll be work permit as he's from Chile. He plays for his country (Was outstanding in the World Cup in fact) so there should't be an issue.
I just hope that when he was photographed at HQ he didn't look around at our "intimate" surroundings and think to himself "what have i done?"......
Ian Abrahams (Moose) ‏@BroadcastMoose 38 mins Queens Park Rangers have confirmed they've signed Chile international Mauricio Isla.on a year's loan (subject to a work permit)
This article suggests it's down to the FA. http://talksport.com/football/juventus-defender-agrees-season-long-loan-qpr-140806106036?
Yeah, FA are a signatory to the document mentioned above that ratifies his eligibility - he definitely qualifies, so they just need to get the right signature on the paperwork.
