I wouldn't put too much hope in the witness, it was a deaf and dumb Mackem in the crowd with the usual 6 fingers on each hand. After watching his explanation the FA sign language expert concluded that the bloke had tourettes, Shelvey had a full head of of hair and Moyes had nice tits.

Comical referee but you get good and bad games. Refs have been OK this season in general so not gonna deep end off one game. You finish where you deserve. Yes he cost us this game but he won't have cost us promotion if we are not promoted. Hate these threads, you sound like Marcus or RAW and the conspiracy theorists <laugh>
 
Not even sure the last time i complained about a referee (it's less than once a season).

Shelvey sending off and first penalty were fair enough and I blame Shelvey for that, Dummett incident was mild at most and whilst the penalty is in the "well you see them given" category the idea it was a red card offence is just ****ing brainless and if Sunderland fans want to come on and argue that is the sort of incident defenders should be getting sent off for then I will be sure to store those comments as I can guarantee there'll be clearer fouls they commit this season which they complain about being pulled up. Take your red and white specs off and watch the Dummett foul, if you believe that should be a sending off then please go watch a different sport - you support Sunderland so you can't be that big a fan of football anyway :P.

As for offside goals allowed, soft yellows, etc. the referee has to make the call as they see it at the time. It's a thankless job and sometimes decision go with us and sometimes against. He wasn't biased he just had a bad game and many of the big decisions he made went against us. Did it cost us the game? Yes probably but no more than Shelvey did, if that penalty had gone in then the game would likely have changed against us at that moment and that's probably all we would have been talking about now.
 
most ref today really ..hard to pick a good one .

webb was all about himself and trying to have a quiet game , but that cannot happen with fifa rules.
also mariner is a arsenal lover ...see it a mile off .


a big factor about officals today is the quality of the linesmen as well ..just pure rubbish


we would not have this prob if video was brought in ... they say bad decisions even themselves out throughout the season ..but that is the biggest myth in football .

why just not take it way from them ..

I was thinking the same myself. For the really big decisions use technology.....it's a no brainer. It
Might not give a definite decision every time but it will clear up a lot of dodgy decisions.

Shelvey shouldn't have been sent off or a peno given. I'm not saying it wasn't a foul, but from seeing the replays, the referee saw none of it, he was following the game and did not witness the incident at all, furthermore the Lino's vision, even though he was closer, he had a very blocked view of the incident and clearly could not see enough to warrant making such a decision, it was guess work and in favour of forest. Lansbury should also have a 3 match ban on the same basis as Shelvey.

Asombalonga was offside, Dummett's was perhaps a foul and a peno for being caught on the wrong side of the defender and from the view the officials had, it looked like a pen, but no it shouldn't have been a red car too.

Clark should have had a peno, their defender should have been sent off as it was a professional foul with no intention of playing the ball and Clark should have had a goal. So the ref got literally every main decision wrong. I recall from watching it though, he gave Forest every 50/50 call and they all add up.

we won 2-0 despite having Nolan sent off

but this caught my eye

Referee: Jonathan Moss. The two yellows were probably correct although Watford's Lansbury made sure Nolan walked, with a double axel and twist.

However, Moss ignored regular assaults by opposing players on Andy Carroll, as he had done in his previous Newcastle match, away at Blackpool.

Its a valid point. Can you remember ANY game so far this season when we had a referee that was even a tenth as biased as this turd in our favour ?
I certainly can't. All you can ask is a fair share of the dodgy decisions. And we are certainly NOT getting that
 
3 pages in and not one mention of Trev/Sebb/Penfold/Mitro's Choreographer? What is the world coming to?

Well you certainly don't.
Theres a few definites for worst ever. The disgusting Graham Ashby and his acting like Lou Macaris glove puppet in his digusting performance Arsenal v Newcastle in which Ginola was kicked from first whistle til he was sent off - Ashby got the hate when he refereed a later match and wouldn't comment when asked about his treatment of Ginola. (Lou Macari - who has always had a baffling hate of Newcastle. Haven't a clue why - had raged against Ashby when he sent off his player for constantly fouling Ginola in an earlier game - and Ashby targeted Ginola because of it)
Then theres Neil Coddington who likewise wouldn't answer questions about the fact he'd sent off 3 Newcastle players AND Keegan (and I think McDermott too)
A nd theres so many more EXTREME bad refereeing.
Trelford Mills - disallowing two late goals in an FA Cup match v Brighton who almost caused a riot. Thats not even counting the three blatant penalty appeals. VAR would have a field day with all three refs. Another who got the treatment from fans when they appeared again.
Then theres Steve Barnes. Newcastle were 2-0 up against Liverpool and he sent off one Newcastle player, then a ridiculous penalty to Liverpool. Ended a convenient 3-2 to Liverpool. He also sided with Chelsea on an FA Cup relay. Sent off Peacock for a tackle from behind, but DIDN'T for an identical from behind tackle by a Chelsea player. But there's many many many more - these are just the memorable EXTREME ones that stick in the mind
