Well, he took lowly Yeovil to the dizzy heights of the Championship - albeit for 1 season (2014) whilst we were struggling to even stay in League 1.
I’d say that was pretty good - Yeovil were the best team in the entire West Country that season!
He must have smiled as he passed us on his way up and our way down..... <laugh>

I'd say getting City to the P/O final was brilliant as well.
Forever grateful to Uncle Pete bringing Basso and Marvin to AG for pittance.
GJ's career at Yeovil and City were similar. Starts with a bounce and then descends south in few years.
Yeovil fans blame him for starting their demise, I think that's harsh but they're a lot closer to it than we are.

You didn't mention his record at Northampton, Peterborough, Cheltenham and Torquay.
    Did you forget?

blimey Wiz you gonna live to be a hundred?

I cant agree at all with, and have said so many times ... this prior to him leaving he had qualified for the cup final we won and they duly won, it was almost an impossibility for them not to have got promoted from Div 1 which they duly did so
quote from wiki..... "and by the time he left Barnsley, the club were sat twelfth, a huge improvement from them sitting twenty-second in the table in November. He had also led the club to the Football League Trophy final, in which his successor Paul Heckingbottom managed to claim the cup win. He [ Lee ] left Barnsley on 6 February 2016

but you take quite a few opportunities to belittle him?!

If the football stays exactly the same "boring" but the odd bits of "bad luck" like own goals, wrong penalty decisions become good luck [ in between the boring bits ] and we get some good luck like they miss penalties don't get them and pop in the odd OG [ BETWEEN THE BORING BITS 75MINS or more? ] and all the teams around capitulate and leave us in second place … will you be screaming to the EFL .. UNFAIR TO promote us as we play boring football and were very unfortunate finish 2nd????

so far I HAVENT SEEN ANY VITRIOL, just a boring old repetition of the same moans and groans on whether peeps like or don't like, don't like but don't hate or hate at any cost .. still I suppose lifes like that takes allsorts …

When losing the argument and all else fails, try the sympathy card.

that is not a sympathy card and I am sure THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE who have had the same would shudder at such a suggestion they need sympathy.. to be honest I would suggest that your stooping to the level that you have to use that comment to bolster your "argument" puts you firmly on the losing side

Wasn't supposed to be a sympathy card, argument or excuse RP, I was just stating a fact (I know you have a problem with facts!!) .......not my business, surely down to the respected clubs if GJ was fit enough....

Which is wiped out by increased wages and amortisation. In the four years Mr Johnson has been in charge the FC has consistently lost money .. As it did before and will after Mr Johnson leaves.

These losses have increased (again). That is how Mr Lansdown now runs it. Differently to how it was when Mr Cotterill was in charge.

Looking at finances then and now Steve Cotterills targets could have easily been afforded. Those targets going on his past performance would have also made money again.

Steve Cotterill did fund 2014/15 recruitment with the sale of Baldock. He also restricted the wage bill by running a small squad thus meeting the sustainability of the League One FFP equivalent alongside having a stadium with a reduced capacity.

From my recollection the only player to arrive after the sale of Baldock was Agard which was resting on the sale of Baldock. All the others were purchased long before Baldock was sold.

Agard, Freeman and Smith were signed in the same window in which Baldock left. If Baldock had stayed the transfer dealing would have been different think we can agree there.

Was what Cotterill wanted later realistic? Well it could have been afforded if its looked at how the club is run after he left.

    Interesting.

Is that because he's applying for jobs and not being offered them, or he is living off fat payoffs from City and Birmingham perhaps ?

So if you’re so anti-nepotism, does that mean you don’t believe Brian Tinnion and Scotty Murray deserve their positions at the club, or Frank Lampard at Chelsea either?

quite often peeps try to complicate things by using terminology that tries to baffle or make assumptions that are just that … Korey joined on 27 June, Agard 21st Aug and Baldock left on 27th AUG ..

Bristol City do not do spend money without having it covered .. bit like a house chain! so unlikely that the "sale" of Sam guaranteed the purchase of the other pair …. had Sam failed a medical or decided not to go then we would have still had 2 players...……… as it turned out Sams fee helped with profitability [ although still - ] for that season.

you just do not do your homework do you .. if you were at school you would spend more time in the corner than sat at your desk working!!!!!!
He left Kilmarnock in the January, and having done all his badges and very successfully got them, almost 8 weeks later was made manager of OLDHAM at 31 years of age. He saved them from relegation …. the following season took them to their position since 2009. following on next season …{from wiki}.....Johnson's name suddenly emerged as many club's targets to fulfil their managerial posts, and by the time he left Barnsley, the club were sat twelfth, a huge improvement from them sitting twenty-second in the table in November.[30] He had also led the club to the Football League Trophy final,[31] in which his successor Paul Heckingbottom managed to claim the cup win.[32] He left Barnsley on 6 February 2016.[30]

Weird that not one club queued for his services !!!!! 8 WEEKS AFTER PLAYING made a manager , head hunted and compensation paid, head hunted and compensation paid, contract renewals … strange aint it no one wants his services :emoticon-0102-bigsm :emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl:
