I don't think Putin is a good listener at any time and we know he can't be trusted at all. The only real real chance of peace is if the Russian population who know the truth rebel and take to the streets to oust a dictator who like all the rest of them is only interested in what it means for him in the glory stakes. He will get his just rewards for his brutality when the rest of the world says no more unless you want the full meal deal when it comes to retaliation. The deaths are almost reaching Stalingrad proportions but that was a just war for the Russians and was instrumental in deciding the outcome of WW2 but Ukraine is a vanity choice solely by Putin to re-form the Soviet Union. I often wonder if there would come a time when some of his sidekicks decided to leave the mess to Putin alone and perhaps they could broker a deal that saved their own backsides from dangling at the end of a rope? Regrettably Ashton if Trump gets elected he will cut off all aid to Ukraine as he has clearly stated all along. I would like to think that saner heads would prevail and overrule that possibility with their negative votes in either houses but unfortunately you are dealing with Republicans who follow the jerk at his every bidding. The best result obviously would be a win for Biden, whether you approve of sleepy Joe or not, and right now below the radar Trump is rapidly losing face by his madcap rantings at his rallies which is turning off some of his most rabid supporters and those are the people that he can't lose at any cost. The soon to be announced sentencing for his crimes may hit him hard as well because as he himself said the other day after Biden's son was found guilty (and rightly so) "Would you want a President who has a son guilty of a crime to be your next person in the White House?" Can you actually believe he said that - yes he did and then claimed he is of sound mind. As an aside on this today I looked at all the various teams competing at the Euros and wondered why someone didn't see this tournament as an opportunity to show case European unity against Putin and his crazed murdering mob? Perhaps that's why all of the kids coming out on the pitch look as if they are wearing the colours of Ukraine and maybe before the final there should be a speech telling the thug to stop his evil ways because what you have witnessed at the Euros is the only way to go for peace's sake.

The North Korea/ Russia meetings have determined that they will cover each other's backs due to the international attacks against their regimes. We live in a much more international world than we did during WW2 and even then the Americans only came to Europe's aid after Pearl Harbour. Of course not all drones get the same results but there must be a big attrition to Russian troops from what is posted if some of the "strikes" are replicated say just 20 times ! the latest weapon to come to light is a sniper rifle with a range of 1.5 km or more [ holds world record for accurate shot ] bullet took 10 secs to reach target .... sniper had packed his weapon and was ready to move before bullet hit .. his observer confirmed the target fell ... presumed dead .. or wounded! think the velocity [ muzzle ] was 960 mph ? about 14,000 feet a second? the target would from a longer distance never get to know where it came from ... can fire 8 shots rapidly so crowded area exact spot on not relevant as bullets arrive silently and quickly ...
And who has this super rifle the Ukrainians or the other lot? The latest awful decision by SCOTUS making presidential crimes legal if they are from the Republican side of the legal fence. Should Trump lose then I think some kind of major confrontation is headed to the streets of L.A. and many others because he has virtually said it will only be considered a fair and free election if he wins the ticket. I know we can't turn back the clock but Biden's biggest mistake was running at all and his hatred for Trump should not have played a part and his second mistake was giving Harris the V.P. spot. He should have chosen a strong white male who could be now running in place of Biden if he had a strong public persona giving him something extra special against the ugly one. Unless the American public wake up in time to see that Trump is taking them all for mugs and will destroy many of the freedoms they have today and will change forever the future political landscape of the Ununited States of America, and they could virtually be at some form of Civil War because there are millions unwilling to accept dictatorship in any form.
