    Mikail Gorbchev .... RIP <rose>

Quite a few on here will know of his acheivments. Coming to power in the middle of the 80's he oversaw the breaking up of the Soviet Union [USSR] and the reunification of Germany and the release of Eastern Europe from Communism to Democracy.
Some may argue his attitude was the reason of the break up of the USSR, HOWEVER the writing was on the wall back in 1991 as the outlying states [ the borders ] was already becoming in a state of meltdown. I had a number of friends in Georgia and Belarus, we used to talk on HAM radio most mornings. There equipment was nearly always DIY [ To get a licence most countries exams encompassed knowledge of operatinh procedure/ construction and for top licence holders, like my A licence, morse code ] USSR stations were mainly the result of acquiring parts from defunct military sources.
The move to modern day stuff and the western way was creeping in , one friend who had visited Turkey, prior to conscription, with his partner on "holiday!" was given a second hand micro wave! His wife was held in massive in their block of flats by the other 100 or so residents ... they all wanted one! over a period of 3 /4 years from 1987 to 1991... the change was getting in .. speech became less controlled [ big brother watching!] pretty much all down to Michail G.
He will go down in history as one of the good guys, although the present regime will be hell bent in making him out as a weak loser that destroyed Russia , feeding the population propaganda and restraining their freedom.
A state funeral? well here in will tell a tale, is Putrid brave enough to allow that? Main concern will be bringing back to attention "the good times " the freedom and a sight of what the criminal politicians and rulers dont want them have... like true democracy ........ remember... when the question is asked why do not the younger element stand up? well a few hundred thousand [ brainy ones ] have fled! a few 10's of thousands are locked up because they spoke out and the rest fear what might happen to their parents/family...

KHERSON... a defining time. Just imagine had the weapons currently in use been forth coming earlier? in the occupied areas are numerous Ukranian allies [ also Russian ones as well ] who are spotting for for missile attacks, in the so called "PDR" OF THE DONBAS many Ukranians are being forced into speaking Russian schools are being forced to follow the Russian curriculum on language and history! to the concern of parents ...
The rocket system HIMARS is a game changer they can take out ships like the Moska FROM A DISTANCE. They also have a number of their missiles that did just that in reserve, so hopefully the RUSSIAN soldiers will, if rumours are right be very wary. Already one has sought shelter in France with stories of the corruption in the regular army [ wish him well ] ...

edit PS mike no dont forget bit is City play Weds ...

Did I miss one compo John?

Another oligarch had the misfortune to fall from a hospital window but unfortunately his family missed the drop this time out. No state funeral for Gorbachev as he is one of the reasons Putin is on his campaign of terror to re-unite the Soviet Union and apparently Vlad the Impaler is too busy to attend. Are the Russians still using the sub in the Black Sea to fire missiles and if so why isn't it on the hit list as it would demoralize the troops and the families back home?

As you said John the young are the future and I can't imagine why their silence continues (other than torture and beatings) and I would like to see them eliminate all traces of Soviet style ideologies and open up their country to use all of it's resources to help mankind going forward in a more peaceful world. In the meantime we will have to endure this unwarranted war until sanity and common sense prevail but how long that will take is anybody's guess in the current state of affairs.

yep shortof getting a himars to deliver to you all else failed ...lol

SO Putrid is snubbing the funeral, and most of the worlds leaders are barred, they could all meet up in Paris or somewhere and have a service at the same time a sort of rememberance service!

another top Oligarch / stroke high ranking person plunges from 6th story that something like 4 families and a couple others all died of mysterious consequences!

Putrid said INSPECTORS GET 24 HOURS AT PLANT well looks like half a dozen are in for the long haul!

60 special forces killed trying to retake the plant today ... really!

Been out all day just got back and all seems peaceful! policehelicopter heading our way just took off from filton
    edit no heading toward Bath

whilst we mourn the death of our Queen, Ukraines fight still goes on, and apparently quite well at the moment.
However, concern at Zaphoriza nuclear plant heightens as, and it would idiotic Ukraine is responsible a number of important pylons have been toppled by shelling, so now there is no where really for electricty generated to go. A cynical move by Russia, they cant have the reactors, they cant shelter in the grounds to change the pylons infra structure to ship the electric to Russia is a long time process so they are attempting to shut it down by default.... 1 MISTAKE WITH THE BACK UP GENERATORS and an even worse scenario than Chernobyl/ Japan and 3 mile rolled into one!!!!
The gains, they must be careful [ ukraine ] in over extending themselves, Russia is an evil state at the moment, its troops or the hardliner ones will just fire off indiscriminate missiles at civilian targets.
There has been a lot of P3 AND P8 activity in the North sea and Baltic today these Poseidon aircraft are primarily sub hunters/ destroyers and the Russian fleet is based mainly in Kaliningrad so obviously a close watch is being given. For some reason during the nightime military planes seem to switch off or go dark! HERCULES c17's etc can readily fly at below 300ft [ J18 M4 have seen loads in the past ] the sudden height gain flying east or drop when west was a good practice point [ stationed at Lyneham ] So good maybe for flying in supplies? or doing back door low level drops?
Strato fortress's B52' have been seen over Europe and the strato tankers on a good day can reach 4 or 5! Guardrail is active along Kaliningrad / lithuania border daily. AWACS patrolling the Black sea[ when they choose to put transponders on ...

Russia target civilian infra structure as sourgrapes evil attitude sinks in ...
Apparently the counter offensive captured tonnes of ammunition /weapons and dozens of vehicles due to the [ either ] speed or running to save their lives advance from Ukraine.
Blacksea area has AWACS and at least 2 joint aerial command planes plus Stratotankers [ 4 spotted over total area ]

.. Lithuania 2 planes ... a guard rail and extra monitoring plane [ border is Belarus & Kaliningrad ]

the anti Russian states need to posture! build up extra forces on the borders to thin out the Russian threats. But none of the bordering countries ex Soviet/ European will take the fight into Russia ... just defend when attacked.
Putrid stated he was doing a "special" because he thought NATO was going to attack and used the word NAZI to bolster it [ older Russians were victims, or parents were of the NAZI invasion so fear that word ] NATO is a defence mechanism .. not an aggressor.
UN has self tied its hands by having a veto vote... even the most evil deeds BY A MEMEBER and UN can not respond as that member uses its veto ... throw out a country for violations? ...NO that country veto's it ..........

Russia in my books has forfeited all rights to be on the security council and should be vetoed into the ditch. Putin ran scared when the old Soviet Union broke apart and he was stationed in East Germany because when he heard the wall would come down he thought they might kill him as he was part of the KGB. The man has serious mental issues with rats and nazis etc and his mind always fears the worst will happen, but only in his head. The cornered rat will generally use any excuse to hit back and that's what he is doing now that some of his troops are heading for the hills and apparently leaving lots of usable equipment behind. Indiscriminate shelling of more non-military targets killing innocent civilians will be his order of the day until things change in his favour and right now that doesn't look good for him.
Ukraine needs to take back all of Crimea and wait for Putin's response and then negotiate the Donbas region through third party negotiations (Turkey?) to allow all the residents of that disputed territory to hold a referendum, for both the Ukrainian and Russian citizens, to determine the future of the area for good. The problem with all the ex-Soviet states is that they all have large populations of ethnic Russians that probably want some kind of connection with their heritage but there are few independent states, if any, that have any wish to return to the sad days of history and be under the thumb of mother Russia.

Long may Ukraine's fightback continue but my fear is that they may run short of support during the upcoming winter months and that may change the whole dynamics of the war to the potential detriment of world peace and unity. I would even say that perhaps it's time for Ukraine to hit deep inside Russia and show them that they are no longer untouchable because I believe that the average citizen has no idea what the hell their country is doing under the leadership of Putin. Essentially I think the man is psychotic and needs to wake up, if that is at all possible, before this situation he alone created is the death of him and possibly millions of others. Is there anyone out there who is trying to have discussions with Putin to bring him back into the real world where just about all only want a happy untroubled life or is that too much to ask?????

there is a myth that a cornered rat will jump up and attack ... it is actually trying to escape as the person trapping it will have ground level covered ...

there is some amazing photo's of this Tanks lined up .. tanks in rivers .. ammo and rockets piled up as ammo dumps on side of roads .... one of a real mess of how the russians live/ store stuff ....

The chechyan butcher Ramzan Kadyrov .. .Putin put in charge [ unfortunately not killed in the popsana strike ] is really p****** orf.. wants answers to the "plan" or the answer to the failed plan .... and will go to heads in charge and demand!

There also appeared to be tons of ammo left behind which tells me they left like rats off a sinking ship. When you add in the amazing words spoken on Putin TV about how the Russians will never defeat Ukraine and Putin needs to go you begin to wonder if this may end soon. Reports from a council in St Petersburg said that Putin should be arrested and tried for treason as he has lied to the Russian people about his private war in Ukraine. Will sanity finally prevail and Putin and all of his nodding dogs finally face justice in the court of public opinion? Rather than go the the International War Crimes Court just let Ukraine or Russia mete out the punishments.

A large number of Russian civilians have been arrested teachers/ admin staff left in the lurch. Also a number of Soldiers without their uniforms trying to hide in the population been captured ... no uniform/id classed as spy or turned into asset with info on actions like torture rape etc etc.
A joint command/AWACS exercise going on around Kaliningrad.. home to a suspected 15,000 + Russian soldiers ... are they trying to smuggle them Lithuania to Belarus. Time for the Belarus leader to stand up and be counted. Italian AWACS over the Black sea area! .. thats a first

I think Lukashenko is scared to death to take any real action against Putin using his territory to further his gains. It would be interesting to see what reaction would come from NATO surrounding Kaliningrad in a total blockade which would totally eliminate the possibility of moving any troops or weapons from there to any other theatre of conflict. Although other events have knocked the war off the front pages I truly believe that the supporters of Ukraine will have taken heart in the latest news that they have made major gains into Russian held territory and will up the ante to get a more decisive outcome. Last night I heard on one of the many American channels we get up here is that there are rumours that the U.S. could be supplying even better weaponry without shouting it out to the public. I would rather hope that is true and perhaps it could be the main reason why Ukraine is making major inroads in the Donbas region but I would like to see them take all of Crimea back and throw out all the Russian speakers who are part of the problem in most areas. There was also talk of holding a true referendum, presumably in Crimea, to get the real will of the people as to which side they want to run their affairs.

According to my fact file book Ukraine in it's entirety is 73% Ukrainian and 22% Russian ethnicity but the Donbas area is probably more heavily Russian and as such may possibly choose to be under Putin's boot. Crimea's ethnic makeup is somewhat based on who did the census and it now is probably more Russian according to the census of 2014 which was done by Moscow. A ceasefire is needed followed by a referendum to see what the population wants but will Putin allow that to happen- probably not! The lies told by leaders and politicians continues to amaze me and when they cause havoc and deaths in innocent lives my blood starts to boil.

population of Ukraine would drop by 60% and army by by a similar margin!!!!! unless it was PRO Russia people like in the donbas/luhansk Crimea REGION .. IT IS ALREADY AN OFFENCE in Ukrainian territory to hold a russian passport issued after February ... people in Kherson must be wishing they hadnt fell into Putrids trap .. wonder how many have hidden theres? but kept their ID cards! How many anti Russian supporters will keep their mouths shut when Ukraine reclaims the land occupied. there is also supposed to be a million! Ukranians from crimea/ south who were shipped off to Russia to be brainwashed ... hundreds mostly the younger future of Russia [ good intent ] and younger exiled by force Ukranians made it to Estonia.

biggest laugh yet is washing machines and domestic appliances are in short demand due to the chips being removed for military use ... imagine a scud powered by a washing machine chip stops halfway through flight to fill up with water ....

Kaliningrad as you mentioned the other day ref St: P to move the troops could be done by air but very narrow corridor, or sea to St P again narrow seaway and St P not happy all there neighbours are friendly Scandinavia / Baltic states albeit NATO pact ..... or could go through Lithuania. Lithuania has an agreement on necessary rail link of humanitarian items .. non war items from Kaliningrad to Belarus. Main trains are limestone [ for the Kaliningrad cement works ] ..not passenger or troop trains. I think each one is checked into Lithuania. Today as mentioned Kaliningrad was encompassed by AWACS, command centre planes and the usual guardrail plane [s ] P8'S and P3's been active recently.
Imagine Kaliningrad deciding it wanted to be in EU! its surrounded by it and trades with it ....

Why not join us instead? Russia would really need to up the ante if Kal decided to separate and given their less than stellar performances so far I doubt that they have the moxie to do anything. The only way would be to use other more deadly weapons and we all know what that could mean. How on earth would Putin feel if it were to happen and perhaps people power may be back in the frame? I think Putin is living on borrowed time and his stupidity is about to catch up with him.

yo been busy today [ thursday ]so just spent an hour or so consuming a couple pints and reading a load of Links to do Wagner goes back to 2019. The news at mo is the video enlisting Prisoners whether lifers or in for a few years! the promise is whatever you wont come back here!!!
Apparently all he said is codswallop about not doing things to civilians / women/ flora fauna ! [ maybe sheep or goats! ] taking drugs or alcohol... BBC has a load of documents and a Samsung tablet left by a retreating Wagner in Libya . a real goldmine of info! Apparently Ukraine has struck 2 Wagner camps in past couple of months .. maybe them firing missiles supplied by Russia to civilian terrorising targets. The dam hit last night could have been far far worse ... [ a strong dam?]
The meeting with SCO ... apparently is not to do with Russia or China .. they are just guests/ observers 4 of its central asia members do not support Russia's action toward Ukraine ... being ex soviet states they probably fear the consequences so are playing it craftily ... China seems to be taking all on offer ... cheap oil and gas .. without giving arms in return. Should UKRAINE HAVE A TRICK UP ITS SLEEVE to further counter attack in the south ... maybe the £bn bridge connecting Crimea to Russia [ not the central sea route section as Ukraine needs access to its ports like Mariupol? ] but the approach's .. who knows!
Putrid although putting on a brave face must be wondering

Putin looked like a defeated man during his meeting with China in Samarkand and I would have loved to be a fly on that wall. Was he expecting China to offer it's full backing to the war, including arms, or did he want a statement of support that would send shivers around the globe? The joining of China and Russia in an active military role in Ukraine would no doubt lead to WW3 and that is not what any sane person could accept. The newly captured territories are revealing mass graves of civilians and I ask how much longer can it be before the Russian population reads the real script and rebel against the joke of a special operation?

Putin and his supposed invincible military have become a laughing stock in the eyes of true military leaders and his continued indiscriminate battering of civilian targets to make up for their deficiencies elsewhere is criminal in every way you look at the issue. The attendees at the Samarkand make interesting reading and the 2 that surprised me is India and Pakistan as here they are currently begging for Western aid to overcome hardships from natural disasters. Frankly I would tell them both in no uncertain way to piss off and don't come calling again until you have both woken up to what is happening in the world mainly driven by the 2 rogue nations at the top table. I would give wide berth to any country ending in STAN as they are trouble with a capital T due to religious beliefs that will never join with the rest of the world in creating peace and harmony for all.

Recent other events closer to home have taken the headlines, quite rightly, and perhaps some of the top people who will be at the Queen's funeral will be able to meet afterwards and have some serious discussions as to where this conflict must go in the future. Diminishing support for Ukraine must not happen as it will play directly into Putin's hands and the repercussions could be catastrophic.

CHINA HAS TO BE VERY CAREFUL should they join Russia and send "to much" aid to Russia then their economy will collapse! China cannot feed itself ... India and Pakistan struggle ... so their exports are goods and imports mainly food? Take away the markets of USA / Canada/ EU /Australia and NZ and where will they sell that 60+% of exports!
Currently they are selling items at the same price as 6 months ago but oil and gas at massive discounts help the production aspect . I have a friend who works for BP EXPLORATION and has been in China for 10 years. It has massive Limestone deposits so likely gas and oil to .... yet to be exploited!
Putrid on his return to Moscow has some big decisions to make ... if he was unaware before of the truth's [ very doubtful ] then I am sure his chats with XI JINPING will have been to the point. The world knows the horrors of Russian occupation, they [Russia /Russians ] will learn more as Ukraine has invited over 100 "witnesses" to the horrors of IZYUM by way of journalists and TV ... they will see first hand what comes out of the exhumed graves [ RIP <rose> their souls ] ... but Russia will still say " it never happened ... they were planted there by Ukraine to discredit Russia !!!!!!!!!!!!

SCO presently does not include Russia or China! invite China not Russia to join ........... !

I have read about the way Russian tourists are being berated in the sunny destinations and I would hazard a guess that most of them travel on Turkish Airlines and yet Turkey is supposed to be on our side. What is the SCO? Russia should be ousted from any organization that is supposed to be part of world unity as they have clearly decided to go it alone and to hell with the rest. I watched a documentary on CNN last night about getting justice for the horrors carried out by Russian troops in all areas of Ukraine and the sight of a 10 year old boy who was in a car with his father, mother and uncle in a car travelling away from the conflict when they were deliberately run over by a Russian tank. The car was crushed but the boy survived and was pulled out by the monsters who drove the tank and was told to sit on the grass verge while the car was sprayed with bullets causing the car to explode killing all inside the vehicle. What sort of life can that innocent young boy expect when he will be scarred for life from the experience?

Putin is in trouble after making Russia a pariah to the rest of the world and it seems that he may be facing more dissent at home due to his actions but there are still many who truly believe his words and may demand more brutal action in Ukraine. Only when the people of Russia learn the real truth will there be a chance of ending this insanity but I think there is still a very long way before those opinions change, if indeed ever. Mother Russia was long the centre of the Soviet Union mantra and although those days have long since disappeared there is still lots of hatred surrounding that breakup. Perhaps this is a perfect time for the world to work more with China, even though that may be a bit of a stretch, to try and balance out the aggression from Russia to calm the situation down. Unfortunately I havve some problem with China's access to countries that are struggling because they get them into so much debt they then will virtually will take over completely.

Why is it that certain countries only want to cause strife and mayhem when the peaceful way will work every time?
