  1. I made many banter postings over the years, and certain comments were taken out of context, exaggerated, and held up as gospel truth.

Why not? That's what has happened to Arsenal since they did.

True, although we have won 3 FA cups since our move.

But it's naive beyond belief to assume that because you build a new stadium, the trophies will naturally follow.

Took 8/9 years for the first though didn't it?

There we have it, the trophies will come in the form of an FA Cup in 2027.

7 years. But yes it took a long time.

As Spurs will discover, when you're paying for a £1bn stadium, you can't splash out in the market. They are also following our lead in letting their best players run their contracts down, so they won't even be able to raise the transfer kitty that way either.

The stadium generates at least £50m more cash every year over and above the interest and debt repayments. That obviously adds to the transfer kitty rather than constrains it.

A bit pointless if you're not going to use it.

We had our biggest spend ever last window allowing for the loan of Lo Celso actually being an obligation to buy at full price.
Our spend has been heavily constrained by finances up until now. The new stadium is the solution.

Not sure where you’re getting your figures from, but according to Forbes Spurs will have to repay around £57m per year (£37m of that is interest). But you also have increased operating costs and then there is the big issue of wages.

Spurs have, to their credit, managed to keep wages low, but as you are now finding out the top players want top wages. You also have several players likely to leave on a free, so you can’t cash in on them either.

Also, you have to ensure that you qualify for the CL every season, which at the moment isn’t guaranteed.

You are out of date. We refinanced it three weeks ago.
,"The average maturity of the total debt package of £637m is now 23 years and the interest rate, including the new bank facilities, is 2.66 per cent".
So that is 27.5m per year in capital and 17m interest. From football alone if we continue to sell out we make an extra 50-60m of income on the gate. Other sports events are going to add 10-20m to that. And naming rights another 20m. Then there are conferences, concerts and food sales.
If we don't qualify for the CL then it id much less positive but never negative.

Again, that still doesn't take into account increased operating costs and increased wages.

Where are you quoting that from above ? would be interested to see the source <ok>
