I'm not against Gerrard being captain, but has he played well when fit this season? With only MOTD to go by, he has seemed a bit anonymous recently?
Not at all, it's something a lot of Liverpool fans have also been guilty of believing too, so I don't begrudge you that opinion. He's had several obvious stand out performances, but even when he isn't actually scoring, he exerts huge influence. He drops deep, drives forward, practically never misplaces a pass and can play the team out of trouble. He is like Scholes in that he can pick up the ball in midfield, turn, have a look and make the right pass to keep things ticking over. People just expect him to break the top corner from 30 yards because he did it regularly a few years ago when we were good!
