Not to blow my own trumpet but... http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/148762-How-s-this-for-a-dark-horse?p=2915246#post2915246 Not that I ever believed (nor still do) we could pull it off. To be honest I still think it will be someone out of leftfield and this is all pure speculation. As the majority above, as long as we keep our style and identity plus develop a side to our game we don't currently have (ruthlessness for example) then I'm happy. I'm starting to feel more positive about next season as the days go by but let's be honest the target for next season is at least 17th.
This is exactly the times that bookies make a shedload of money. Keep shifting the odds around to draw people in.
Breezy, that sounds like a shed load of money, mate. Any idea what that #500 translates to in terms of hard cash?
Ivor, Bergkamp's has an estimated wealth of £37m, not to be sniffed at. Must have done some good financial planing and done some good investments to get this much money.
"I'm going on the betting, and I'd trust that ahead of journos" Rodgers was something like 33/1 when he got the Swans job. The lesson? Don't trust either!
Just fun make your next manager guess Now! http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/swansea-specials/next-permanent-manager
Cheers, never. He might not baulk at our pay structure then. Over a certain figure, the majority will be going to the Dutch Revenue I imagine.
I dont mind anyone who has experience in continental football. ludrup, berkamp would be great, the latter wont fly anywhere though......we would have to act like the A team and trick him or something to get him on the plane..
I heard Monk is trying to mediate in the Sigurdsson deal. I imagine that "mediate" involves handcuffs...
scott he has been with siggs for nearly a week now thats why im not giving up hope yet.......i think it will come down to who the manager is that will sway things one way or another...
As Laudrup & Bergkamp are changing places at being the favourite, the next manager is bound to be Karl Robinson !
I think the fact that Jenkins is in Holland, means he is obviously talking to the dutch candidates out there, and while Bodde will get a social visit of sorts, the real business will be with a reasonably young up and coming coach that will suit Jenkins criteria, Bergkamp is approx 43, and laudrup is approx 48, both fit our passing game, one is out of work, and should cost zero in compensation (always a plus for Jenkins) and Berkamp should be a reasonable transfer money wise from Ajax as their assistant coach, though Berkamp is another G Jones, who doesn't see himself as a manager, so will be interesting which one of these will bite, if any. The Swansea School of football managers is a lucrative side line for our board and chairman that has netted nearly £10 Million in compensation, over the last few years, this will be our 4th manager in 3 years, and maybe we will start to get managers queueing up, as they will be guaranteed a successful career path at Swansea city........................
Thought I read around 55 million Ivor , could be wrong . Invested his money very well while he played apparently , I'm sure I read he 's quite a business man & would look good on any managerial resume .
33-1 chances still happen. They happen once in 34 goes on average. The key to watching the betting isn't where it starts but when you see sudden moves. But with next manager kind of bets it's easily manipulated so you have to be more careful. But for next manager job, Brendan was the only person to be very short odds and he got the job. Once we see someone at around 1-4 he will likely get the job as well. If you look at past data you will see that betting odds are very reliable indeed. For example, if you throw a die 1000s of times the numbers 1 through 6 will turn up roughly the same amount of times. So they each have a 5-1 chance each throw. But that doesn't mean you can predict what the next number will be. But you can know that over the long run that each number does indeed have a 5-1 chance. But next manager odds aren;t true odds, as the books very large margin is added to prices.
