Ok, but if you look at the records you might find that we have a shocking record over the last years of games played on the 5th of the month, when the temperature was at 8 degrees, or whilst Burger King was doing 241 on the Whopper but that would not indicate a causal relationship. Or perhaps you think that there is something supernatural happening with the TV cameras which is the other alternative?

The records also show most of our televised games were against tough opposition.

Very tense isn't it.....? For some of us we have been here before........I can Remember a goal by a certain Terry Paine down the archers road end if memory serves me correct it was our last home game and an equalising goal at the time. (I Think) I said at that particular time I thought that was the goal that would take us up! I was right of course......Ok we didn't stay up too long and in his first season as manager a certain Lawry Mac took us back down.....As they say the rest is history.
The biggest mistake we can make is to not take Coventry seriously, we have a job to do and by Jove we have to do it properly...COYS

What is going to determine our fate is not the fact that we're on TV but the team's ability to take control of the game and work the Coventry defence as much as possible to create the chances for Sharp. Lallana and Lambert. BTW I'd love Guly to score a brace on Saturday just to silence the muppets who give him grief whenever he appears.

No, I am afraid we can't. We played very well against Reading but lost to due to individual defensive errors and would have won against Pompey were it not for two bits of individual skill. Even if we had played poorly I would still not agree with you as that was in the past. It has no bearing on what will happen in the future, unless we believe in the supernatural power of TV cameras?

I don't believe in anything supernatural like that , no curses it's just we are **** on tv and gave an awful record , I don't believe we played that well against reading , they schooled us I'd you ask me on the art of finishing , Pompey battled and we failed to take advantage .
We have been awful on tv so it could be argued things can only get better .

that sounds awesome! my first game was in 1991 so a bit before my time but apart from a few of the last day survival games in the prem i cant think of anything to match this one and promotion really means something. Whereas staying in the league by the skin of one's teeth is not something to be particulalry proud of really, more a relief. But yep, BIG AGREE - lets take Coventry very serioulsy.

What has surprised me is just how many games:

WE HAVE LOST WHEN TV CAMERAS HAVE NOT BEEN THERE.

    the cameras dont effect preceedings.

I think it is brilliant that we are the main match on BBC! It is a chance for the club to show its credientials to the country and the world, an opportunity for the fans to display their passion. It could provide Rickie Lambert with a chance to impress the England manager for the Euro 2012 tournament. Are people telling me that the likes of Bent, Defoe, Campbell and Welbeck are as good as Rickie? Give me Rickie any day of the week. And apart from the play-off matches it is the final opportunity to watch a decent game. (The European Club finals, and the Euros are going to be exceedingly boring unless Rickie and Lallana are involved)

This is fantastic! This is why it can be embaressing beign a saints fan when you read this sort of stuff. I love rickie as much as the next man but come on! You genuinely think rickie is better than Darren Bent and Defoe? Jesus wept

If all these curses were even real, Nige and the boys have broken so many of them this season.

To every mother, her duckling is a swan. However, I agree...I would rather have Lambert than any other player we could expect to afford. He's earnt his chance in the PL and I love him to bits.

I may be a bit blinkered but yes! Rickie all round game is fantastic and why is it embarrassing trumpeting our own players ahead of others? Please note the players I didn't list, Rooney is the most talented player we have and the vastly underrated Crouch. As for the other contenders for an England place, he is just as good. Besides Bent won't be match fit.
