I thought a point yesterday was a good result and under different circumstances ie fighting for European qualification or a high finish in the league we all would have taken it as a positive outcome, so I can't understand all the negativity from certain quarters.

I honestly think we'll get 4 points out of the last two games and wouldn't be suprised if we beat Arsenal....<ok>

Perhaps so, but we've had to endure too many gutless performances that have placed us in this position, a draw has left us in the mix with a 'Fighting' chance, a loss yesterday would have been devastating, negativity has come not just from disastrous results, but the lack of effort we've had to endure!

I know we've had a very poor season and I'm certainly not dismissing the failings at every level within the club so far, my comments related purely to yesterday's result which I thought was a positive one under the current circumstances, especially given West Ham's home record this season.

They have proved to be a difficult side to beat at home with far better sides than us failing to get a result there, as you quite rightly point out if we'd lost it would have been a devastating result more so with Wigan beating West Brom, however we didn't and that's why I think it should be viewed as a good result and not 2 points lost.

Finally some common sense about yesterday. How people can criticise Pardew for suggesting it was a good result is beyond me - it was!

You feeling alright though Jim, that was a serious post for you <laugh>

    Morning Warm Pouch...<ok>

    I apologise....don't know what came over me...<laugh>

To be honest I'm seriously p*ssed off with what's happened to us this season and if we stay or go down up I'd expect everyone involved at NUFC to have a seriously good luck at this seasons' failings. Whilst I'm fully aware of the emotions attached to supporting your club and god knows I've suffered over the last 50 odd years, certain results have to be put into context.

I love Newcastle United and will continue to do so whatever division they're in, but at times a dispassionate view has to be taken and a little reality taken into consideration.

Yay... we got a point... we can make a DVD out of that one...

The most disappointing thing with yesterday, more so than results elsewhere, was that the exact same pattern is emerging and it pisses me off. Newcastle play the first 10 minutes well (if not we get humped massively), then the opponents edge the rest of the half, but we still look like we could score. Then low and behold Pardew gets them in at half-time (whatever the score), the players suck on some moldy-oranges while he tells them to sit deeper and deeper and deeper and not attack (presumably), and we end up losing a game we could get something out of, or drawing one we could win. The second half performances this season have been utterly, utterly pathetic.

West Ham aren't a great side, but inviting pressure onto us like we did yesterday was practically suicidal. Thank goodness Mandy can't score against us to save his life. From that perspective, we've somehow got an undeserved point which can celebrate, but to be quite frank, drawing ourselves out of danger seems much riskier than actually trying to win one f***ing game!

I think we have lost the plot Jim and forgotten the other side is allowed to have spells in the game. We were excellent for 45mins yesterday, then likes of HBA and Gouffran gassed (again :(), West Ham picked up the pace as you'd expect for a team with such a good home record, and we had to show the other side you need to in football. For once we did and got a good point. Shame we haven't shown the same qualities in other games this season as we wouldn't be in such a predicament.

Now tell us a ridiculous joke so we know its really you

    He's mine, all mine..<vincentpricemichaeljacksonthrillersmiley>

He'll only be released when survival is assured after consecutive 3-1 victories over QPR and Arsenal, until then he's confined to the dungeon of 'sensibility and torture' where I've got him training to be a Mackem as a punishment for his ridiculous TOON score forecasts.

He's actually doing quite well....hasn't washed, shagging his sister and learning to count to 13 with his shoes and socks off, however I fear he'll never become a full blown Mackem because he insists on using a knife and fork to eat his own sh*te.

Soton vs Stoke and Wigan vs Villa could be the biggest games on the final day meaning SAFC should be ok on 41 points maybe even 39 as Norwich are in appalling form and on paper us and Wigan have the easiest home games left.

In reply to the question of the thread!! R we f**cked? (bit of a paraphrase there but we get the idea of the question). Yes we are!! We are well and truly knackered now I think. QPR will do us probably, as will Arsenal. Our only hope is if we can somehow scramble a point from the QPR game and hope that Norwich implode in the last 2 games.. Oh, How Has it Come to THIS???? Pardew i hate you with all my Heart!!!"!!!

If we stay up it will be due to another team's ****tness rather than us showing any bottle. I've been thinking what our team would be in the Championship and could you imagine both Ameobi's 'leading the line' next season? The very thought makes me want to vomit blood quite frankly.

If he wasn't 'relied' upon (by Pards at least) to actually play in the first team, then Shola would be an amusing joke. But the reality is he plays in almost every game. It's a joke, just not a funny one for us.

How bad was Xisco that he never even got a look in ahead of Shola?
