Yeah if I go with biased and joy from results then Gerrard for me but I was trying to avoid that.

Lets not get off topic y'spud ****ers. When Scott Parker is your equivelant of Gerrard, Scholes or Lampard (correct order) I can see how it's frustrating.

On what Planet are Lampard and Parker similar types of players (ignoring quality). If we're having someone in those roles, then it's Van der Vaart, or Modric or Dembele

Dembele is about the closest to a Gerrard from those three. But even he plays a different way.

It's a shame that Lampard could be anyone's favourite player. The great players make fans gasp. Lampard was a good player through sheer effort. There was absolutely nothing magical or special about him.

I know its hard for you to understand.
You usually only get a season of greatness from the best players before they **** off to a big club.
Maybe one day you will manage to keep hold of a great player long enough to appreciate him :p

I remember Jenas saying about him on MOTD, "I've trained with him, you just cannot get the ball of him. He's so strong"

    And Jenas is no lightweight....

The thing about Lampard was his intelligence. Probably one the most intelligent footballers ever. He had no great skill or pace, but he was clever.

His brain seemed to be one step ahead a lot of the time. He never did anything flashy or that made you gasp, but it's no coincidence that he always seemed to be in the right place to bang in a rebound, or seemed to know where the ball was going to end up.
