More assists and goals would suggest he is dragging his team through games he's outscored and had more assists than both, he's also more of a team player than either of them and is willing to work hard. Best player in the world for me at this point.
This No doubt he's world class. You can't just stick a no-mark like Vardy in there and expect the same. BUT what those players do is make it easier for a world class player to shine. Which is what Suarez is doing. That's the difference between being the best.
I would argue that what I'm seeing is the opposite, Suarez has a superb understanding of the game and his movement and creativity makes his team mates life easier. This is what makes him better than Messi or Ronaldo.
“He has so much to offer the team and it is a pleasure to play alongside him,” Messi said of Suarez in January. “He is the best out-and-out forward there is in the game today.”
http://www.football365.com/news/luis-suarez-the-new-best-player-in-the-world In terms of immeasurable impact, Suarez has also improved the performances of those around him; a select few are capable of almost bringing a Premier League winner’s medal to Aly Cissokho’s neck. The 29-year-old is the facilitator of Barcelona’s forward play, the perennial team player who is excelling as an individual in a system built for someone else. The biggest compliment that can be paid to Suarez is that he was signed as a foil for Messi, an enabler to one of the greatest players the game has ever seen. After starring in the role of lead singer in a small band in Liverpool, the Uruguayan became the supporting act for Lionel’s worldwide tour. Yet Suarez himself has become the main attraction, and the most important – and so often the most decisive – member of a potentially all-conquering Barcelona side.
Whichever way round you put it, he still has the players around him to pull it off. He needs to do it on his own and win silverware to be above the other two. And even if you put the likes of Ronaldo and Messi to one side, look at past winners. Ronaldinho, Fat Ronaldo, Zidane, Cannavaro. All players that were set apart from those around them and were match winners on their own.
I think that works both ways, Luv. If you're the opposition defence, you've got all three of them to worry about. Sure, Suarez's movement. And, his very presence, make him a threat. But the other two do the same for him... Must be a nightmare trying to contain all three of them!...
You would have to say the same about Messi and Ronaldo though they have both had great players around them when they have won trophies. I don't see why Suarez should be seen as different? We know he can do it by himself and then some just look at the fact that he almost gave Ally Cissokho a PL winner medal.
Neither Messi nor Ronaldo did it with players around them who were on a par with them. And despite that they still stood out from players around them like Benzema, Alonso, Xavi and Inesta. Suarez firstly IS surrounded by players on a par. And secondly he does not stand out ahead of two of them. Put it this way... if you ask, is Suarez world class, is Suarez one of the best in the world - citing the reasons you've given. I'd say yes absolutely. But to be considered the best, you have to be set apart from the rest of your peers AND be directly responsible for winning something. He's not done that.
I couldn't disagree more, Messi has played his career surrounded by quality as has Ronaldo. Also does Suarez stand out ahead of his peers? He does at the moment and has done throughout last season.
You're not listening mate. Surrounded by quality isn't being argued here. They were never surrounded by players on a par with them (when either were rightly considered the best). That also applied to the likes of fat Ronaldo, Zidane, Ronaldhino. They stood out. Suarez plays alongside Messi and Neymar who together with Suarez are considered arguably the best 3 forwards around. At least that's what Liverpool fans were telling us last season. Now somehow it's changed? After one game.
No doubt. But no doubt also that Suarez was head and shoulders above both of them. He gave then both the opportunity to shine, and to be fair to them, they both raised their game.
It hasn't changed for me, all 3 are class. Before those 3 there was a diffrent set up Xavi Inesta Messi also all class, Messi had it easy with those 2 supplying the bullets.. Lets put it another way... I'm right y'manc twat so stop ****ing arguing with me!
At least you don't feel like a ****. Imagine giving him away for free and buying him back, for arguments sake, let's say for around..I'll just pick a random number..err 89million?? Then you'd feel like a pleb.
