    I think Gerrard meant that if Suarez was to leave Liverpool then it would only make sense to go to say Barca or Real.

    Arsenal in terms of club (if not team from 08-13 seasons) is a step sidewards at best.

    why would a move to a Champions League club be a sideways step Liverpool have not been in the comp for years.

    If Suarez had gone to Arsenal in 2013, he would have played CL last season instead of playing bingo in Bootle on Wednesdays

    It's a very easy point.

    Arsenal are not a bigger club. For the past few seasons they have been the better club.

    If Luis went to Arsenal he would either have left in identical fashion or be kept against his wishes in identical fashion... he stayed at Liverpool and nearly won the league. Would that have happened at Arsenal? Who knows - it's academic. Regardless, with Luis' ability the only clubs he should've thought of transfers to were Real and Barca.
