I like Monk, not Sherwood though. I think we could do with a more bombastic type of manager who could get them fired up from the start of games, but also with more tactical nous than Bruce
Since Bruce has been here, how many players have actually flourished as opposed to standing still or going backwards? Not many
When you look at were Bruce has managed,it's hardly surprising he tries to keep it real with the media. I personally think he plays us down deliberately so if and when we do something the media never expected, he can gloat to f uck about it again as 'Liddle ol Hull do it again' ect. Let's face it,we played at Rotherham yesterday, and they turned us over easier than Leeds did. To be fair, this is what happens when you hang on to a manager and hope he can bring the so called good times back by giving him all the wonga he needs. Don't hold yer breath.. Allam OUT
People just have unrealistic expectations. They go on about how good our squad is but in reality it isn't even the best out of the three relegated teams never mind the rest of the league. They then blame the manager for his tactics or not motivating the players, his tactics were fine yesterday, the goals conceded were down to individual error and we created enough chances to win the game but there was just some poor individual finishing. As for motivation, the fat ****ing paycheque and the fact they are profissesionals should be all the motivation they need, don't blame one man if the players have a bad attitude. We're very close to the top at Christmas, doing better than most relegated teams have done in the past few years, automatic promotion is very much still on the cards. There is so much arrogance on here with regards to where we should be. As for replacing the manager, no one has named a suitable replacement, if they are out of work there's a reason for that and if they are with a club then why would they want to leave and come here? Stick with what we've got because if you look at the table it's working out pretty well, stop throwing a strop after every defeat or bad performance and just enjoy the ride.
There were no tactics yesterday, not unless the plan was to pass to the opposition or kick it in to touch as quickly as possible.
Whilst I agree, these are the players that in the main Brucey brought to the club to do a job for him and City, so either way Brucey's failing as the players didn't deliver
You are right to extent but there has to be a point where the player takes some responsibility, if they were being asked to do something beyond their ability then fair enough blame the manager but I don't think thats always the case here, certain players just are not performing.
I often questioned the role of captain in a football team. However it can't be coincidence that we've had this run of ****e performances while Dawson has been absent. Maybe half our problem is leadership on the pitch. I'm sure a lot of us have had (or still have) jobs where the absence of strong leadership causes issues, I don't see that a football pitch is much different.
Well said. There's a lunatic fringe on here who think we have got such a good squad that we should be winning every game by 3 or 4 goals; there's another lunatic fringe who are anti-Bruce obsessed and would prefer to see him go even though no better replacement has been agreed upon. Then there's the rest of us who recognise that, although things are not going particularly well at the moment whilst Dawson is out injured, we are still well in the promotion mix at Christmas. After all, this is Hull City - who never do things the easy way - and the promotion race is sure to go right down to the last match of the season.
So much of that post doesn't make sense, which is unlike you. Your second to last paragraph is incredible logic. Based on that principle literally no club would ever change their manager. It implies that because Garry Monk was sacked he isn't suitable for any future jobs. It also implies that Bruce should never have been appointed. After all, he was out of work for a reason. The ride simply isn't enjoyable. Every game we see the same ****e. I've no idea how you can argue that QPR or Burnley have a better squad than us. I think some people are so used to being told we're **** they just accept it. This squad of players is full of players who have looked bloody good at Premier League level. Burnley have got the likes of Boyd who's a good player, but to put that in perspective, we gathered so many better players that we let him go. We've got Sone Aluko not even making our bench. And Ryan Taylor who was a Premier League regular last season. Huddlestone and Diame can't get in our team. Brighton who are doing miles better than us have our discarded full back and he's one of their most popular players. Now I like Rosenior but we ****ed him off and spent £3.5m on someone allegedly better. I can't believe it's even being debated whether our squad is worthy of automatic promotion. Yes we're 'just little old Hull City' but look past that, we've got a ridiculous standard of player for this level.
Things aren't right Waggy thats why the forums full of it, seems fairly well reasoned criticism and analysis to me
Hard to judge Old camel toe,he's a shrewd old sod, even he realises it's all very well having a virtual brand new mansion with all the mod cons, but you will have a much better chance of selling it in the Premier part of the City . I reckon he will give his chosen one enough time to sink or swim, that's the only way he can at least try and sell the club, lock stock and wonky barrel. Allam OUT
Things have been far worse than this in the past! I will agree with you that there is SOME fairly well reasoned criticism, but most of the posts are just from the lunatic fringe.
I agree with most of what you have said, the one thing I don't understand regarding Rosenior is at the time we were playing a system with wing backs, which did'nt really suit him. but after letting him go, we revert back to playing a back four, in my opinion he is a far better right back than Elmo or Moses will ever be.
He considers Elmo to be undroppable. Akpom has missed lots of great chances and yet he keeps him in. He failed on every other loan spell he had and yet was brought here.
Something is clearly very wrong with this squad. Just watch Huddlestone go elsewhere and start pulling trees up.
