Really! I didnt see him flash in any fast low crosses , just slow high balls that the forest defence gobbled up! Still lets hope this work in progress have done a hell of a lot of work before tonight!

Personally I thought Forsyth did quite well against an experienced, organised and physically strong defence. He has settled into Championship football a lot quicker than Don Cowie managed and considering his age has performed with some consistency so far this season. Don Cowie received plenty of flak on the Old 606 boards until fans started to notice that we were not winning when he was out of the side.
IMO Forsyth is a good player with plenty of potential.

If fans need someone to criticise possibly they should look at the performance of John Eustace who I thought struggled against Forest and was a yard or so off the pace for most of the game. I like John Eustace a lot but feel that he now needs a very energetic ball winner alongside him - not sure yet that Hogg can fill this role.

Absolutely spot on NOWP - I think Forsyth has settled in well and looks like an excellent addition to the team. Also agree that JE looked poor, particularly his distribution.

That was exactly my point H - yet others slag him off and seem to lay the blame for our poor performance(s) at his door!

Funnily enough, similar comments were aimed at both Cowie and McGinn when they first arrived - probably from the same sources too! From what I've seen of Forsyth up here, I would certainly not be surprised if he turns out to be as good as either of those two - he simply needs time to adapt to the Championship. Unfortunately, too many fans are of the "I want it and I want it now" mentality.

:) The best possible response from the guy - scoring the winner. :)

Probably won't be enough for some though :(

BB - Good point made on 3CR that he did not let his miss on Saturday effect him and he took his goal very well tonight. Also, I meet him at the quiz night and he is a very decent young man, the sort of player we should be proud to have wearing our shirt...

I take your point, but if we don't utilise him properly, he won't go for more than Graham.

People who condemed otoole for only scoring are now glorifying forsyth for the same

Imho he has done nothing for us except score(by which i mean make 1 pass tackle or stop the ball bouncing at least 15 feet away after the first touch.

Sordell is being told to play right on the shoulder of the last defender, so he's obviously going to be caught offside 9 times out of 10. He'd be better deployed slightly deeper where his skill and shooting prowess can hurt the opposition. On Forsyth, whilst not being in the mold of a traditional winger, he must win at least 80% of the aerial battles he's involved, and that is something we can exploit if we can get him in the right areas. People seem to forget that he's totally new to this league and will take time to bed in - he will most certainly improve and could become a real asset for us over time.
