IS SB with AA on the proposed name change or is this a sign of mental stress?

I think that's the whole intention, but the press can't help themselves but constantly ask them questions about it. Especially Bruce.

This is just embarrassing. I actually went red. You do know fans of other clubs read this board ?

Bruce should ideally stay out of it, but not if it's going to get him sacked. Everyone forgets it now but Barmby was sacked simply for what he didn't say. He never said "I had no money to spend", he just didn't deny it when Burnsy suggested that might have been the case.

With Assem Allam, normal rules don't apply, one wrong move and you're gone. Doesn't matter how good a manager he is. If he said it's a stupid idea he'd be straight out the door. If he fails to say it's a good idea he's gone. Allam is all about pride and personal victories over the fans. He know Bruce is influential with us so will be in his ear making sure he says what he wants him to.

Bruce has done well to get this far and not upset anyone. If that can continue then great.

In other words, Allam doesn't like to be made an example of. Some would say dictatorial, but Allam isn't like that because he said it in his press conference... <whistle>

I think DMD summed it up well the other day "Clear the air, but don't ask me that."

Shhhh don't mention Barmby's sacking. People will be reminded of how much of a **** they thought AA was back before the PL was all that mattered.

Barmby was sacked for publicly saying he was offered Billy Sharp by Assem Allam and he turned him down because his wages were too high and it would unsettle the dressing room (from memory).

Club statement said something like "For comments made in the media about transfer funds."

The interview in question was dug up and linked on here at the time. It was after Watford away I believe where we drew 1-1 and any hopes of the playoffs were all but lost. Burnsy suggested there must have been problems getting money from the owners at the time, and Barmby didn't deny it but just said "We need to be a bit cuter." I remember that well just cos its a strange word he used to use a lot.

The Billy Sharp stuff was all rumours and unless I missed it, nothing was said publicly about him except for Burnsy saying "Would you fancy him?" and Barmby saying no. Although I think Allam did want to sign Sharp, but didn't want to let Barmby sign his own targets.

Its from the same interview. Barmby mentioned the wage structure and the dressing room as reasons why he didn't fancy him. As we know nobody tells Assem how to run his business, especially not an employee.

I have supported Assem Allam since day one

I have bags of respect for all he has done , most of it has nothing to do with football

He can go away today for the rantings he comes out with

The fa said NO TO THE NAME CHANGE

He should give up or go.

No one prefers Hull Tigers to HULL CITY

All this for a poxy 1m in extra money

He is NOT as loyal as you think

Ffs he will leave If he doesn't get his way
    Over just 1m a year !!

Yet I would not leave If the fa had said Yes
Or if we end up in division 4

He would **** the club off over 1m !!!!

    Do it then.

He has threatened even his biggest supporters
    now.

    And don't blame ctwd

    the FA SAID NO

    not CTWD

And I reckon our new owners just might be our BEST ever ..

Brucey says a lot more in the Daily Mail.

'I think there will be a positive outcome. That means he will stay and he will win his case. I genuinely believe that will be the case,' said Bruce.
'Those are my thoughts. We have seen change before. One club (Wimbledon) went from London to Milton Keynes. Arsenal left Highbury...I never thought that would have happened back in the day.
'Or Manchester City leaving Maine Road. The fans even sang 'Maine Road till we die'.
'But they moved into a nice new stadium and everyone forgot about it.
'If he was looking to leave the KC and move to Sheffield, then I can understand there would be all sorts of arguments raging.
'But when you talk about a name change, there is an 'AFC' in there.
'Does that have to stay? For me, can we find a middle ground? I think we know now what the situation is so let's see what the Court of Arbitration says.
'But I think it has a long course to play.'
