Theres only one person Dickdale is interested in helping and that is himself .... because of him the sale of Argyle has dragged on for months longer than it needed to ..... through Argyle he as rented a large house, had thousands in consultancy fees oh and drives around in a brand new BMW while the true people who have kept this club afloat have gone without wages for months and months ! If I can run a grass roots club, I could do what he has done and would have willingly done it for nothing so the people who deserve the money would have been paid !
What are you like on man management Gat? That doesn't include rope or tying anyone up. I agree with you though pretty much anyone could have done what he has so it beggars belief that we have paid so much for the benefit of such service. I also agree he was out for himself and acquiring a club cheaply. Motives for doing so will never be known.
I pride myself on being a good judge of character Sensible and at those meetings you could see what he is ..... trouble is he has the gift of the gab and at the time fans wanted to believe what he was saying ..... think unfortunately we will be stuck with him in some shape or form as every footy club he offers his services to recently all say "No thank you" lol .... I've done my management NVQ so if I could stop being brutally honest I reckon I'd be ok lol
My views on Mr Ridsdale are well known, and I'm just hoping that James Brent has seen through him. He has arm ache from patting himself on the back for "saving" Argyle, when in my book he has simply weasled his way into our club with the sole purpose of acquiring a football club for bugger all. I fail to see what he has actually done to save us, bar phone HMRC, good work getting through to them though Riddler, I'm forever on hold chasing money owed to me, and tell them that the cupboard was empty so they would have to wait for their money. He's been handsomely rewarded for his tireless efforts, whilst all around him staff have been made redundant with no pay-out, or have been bullied into deferring wages time and time again. He has treated several players disgustingly, such as Arnasson, and hired Jamie Hart, his old mate Paul Hart's son, as an "expert advisor" to sell off any players that could command a transfer fee, so that he could keep receiving a nice wedge during this whole long drawn out process. The players have been sold for peanuts which has just gone towards Ridsdales "expenses", and paying his old friend the administrator. The money raised by selling off our best players has not really benefitted the club in any way, other than reduce a wage bill that already wasn't being paid. Ridsdale has been travelling round trying to find a prospective buyer who would let him have the football club while they rip us apart with property development at Home Park. All this has been paid for by the club, even though there has always been a viable option on our own doorstep in James Brent. The time that has dragged on with ****wits like Heaney has cost hundreds of thousands of pounds, all going to the administrators and Ridsdale, who are friends of old. James Brent's bid was sabotaged by Ridsdale from the outset, and only when they couldn't piss us around any longer and James Brent kept making it known that he had the money and the people ready to do the deal, did Ridsdale come out with a bucket full of bullshit about always wanting the Brent bid all along. Ridsdale was not found not guilty of the fraud case regarding the "golden ticket" scheme at Cardiff City, where he knowingly took money off Cardiff fans up front, whilst promising that this money would be used for transfers that could get them into the Premier League, when all along he knew the club ws under a transfer embargo. The Trading Standards agency offered no evidence, when it became obvious that it was going to be impossible to gain the conviction they wanted. Anybody with half a brain cell knows that what Ridsdale was doing was robbing Peter, the Cardiff fans, to pay Paul, a long line of debts. This is how he operates. God knows what hair brained schemes or doddy dealings would have gone on at Argyle if he had gained control. Allied to the shambles at Leeds, where he threw everything at a shot of glory, when he knew all along that unless Leeds made it into the top 3 to gain a Champions League place, they were doomed. The rest is history. Players sold for a fraction of their value or the amount they were bought for, and Leeds drop for the Premier League to League 1 in no time. Of course all of this at Leeds and Cardiff has occurred without Mr Ridsdale having to invest any of his own money, he's too clever for that, and all done in First Class luxury rented fish and all. And if you listen to Ridsdale explain away his past, none of it was ever his fault, which of course contradicts EVERY other persons version of events. Hope this answers the original post.
Nice bit of work there Jock, Ridsdale is not a tool as they are use full. He is a crook. He may have made a call to the tax man but that does not warrant what he has had from the club, well other loyal staff have had **** all. He is a thief, along with that other ****er Guilfool. We don't here him no more now his chum Heaney as ****ed off. Heaney must have stopped the bungs now he was found out. Ridsdale **** off, your not wanted at this Club.
I have to agree with you Sensible. Ridsdale didn't actually do anything that wasn't as obvious as the nose on his face or was forced upon him. It's just a pity [and a complete bewilderment] that the previous lot didn't start on the same tack a lot earlier before the situation became desperate. After all, they had access to all the same information as Ridsdale. On the other hand, it's perfectly clear that Ridsdale's objective in all this was ..... errr Ridsdale himself. He got himself in the perfect position to do that by being both inside the club and a player in the potential buy-out, a thing nobody else had the advantage of. I can't prove he did anything wrong specifically but it did all look like turning out very well for him and I've learnt to firmly believe there is never smoke without fire. Bearing in mind the uncomfortable echoes it generates, I'm surprised nobody has remarked on this article: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15241344.stm It doesn't follow that everybody who uses off-shore vehicles is up to no good but this one's a shocker as Leeds under Bates' direct management had issued specific statements that they didn't know who the owners were [NB I don't ever remember Ridsdale personally saying specifically he didn't know, although I'm open to correction], only for it to look awfully like it was actually Bates all the time. Either that or Bates has the Ridsdale knack of being just in the right place at the right time with no pre-planning at all!
So Bates owned Leeds pre and post administration? And they would only have to divulge who owned the club if the got promoted! I saw an interesting debate on a Leeds Utd fan site where the subject was who would you rather have as Chairman, Bates or Ridsdale? Some of the replies were extremely interesting and funny. The general consensus was they would rather have Pol Pot as Chairman. Seriously though, how unfortunate would you have to be to have had Ridsdale then Ken Bates running your football club?
I just hope that when Peter Ridsdale move on when the take-over is completed (as he says he is going to do !),people who obviously don't like him will just find themselves a life. Hopefully they will not be sharpening their knives and looking for another person to hate. Of course James Brent might make him an offer to stay awhile, then that will cause a problem or two for some people.
Errmmm .......... that'll be some us plus most of the fan-bases of Leeds United and Cardiff City then Plymborn. Plus the Football League by the look of it, who must have had a reason to block the BIL deal. OK, that could have been Heaney but I doubt it as firstly it was clearly stated he was in the property deal only and anyway they always had the tools to deal with him later if he was discovered to be involved in 2 clubs nevertheless. Now if Ridsdale being found guilty of fraud in his current court case, wouldn't that have blown a whole in their fit & proper persons test?
If this.......if that.........I don't care about Leeds or Cardiff, that's nothing to do with PAFC.........and that's what I judge him on.......if he stays I'm sure James Brent has come across his style of doing things..........he is an astute business man,and if he did employ him that's OK with me.............but would Ridsdale want to play with someone elses train set..........probably not........so if he goes Ok, we will just move on and forget him (hopefully).
