I dont think Vidals available til the summer and Gundogan has a serious back condition that may end his career soon.

Cabaye in now wouldnt be all bad. He'd improve us short term and become a good option down the line when our primary targets come in.

who cares? if he is a good player, what ****ing difference does it make whether the Glazers and Moyes bought him in a panic or not?

The important thing is that he must be the first of 3 or 4 major buys. He cost £37m, it seems that most believe he is worth about that, even critics of the move. And the Glazers must be quite happy that they have not been fleeced because of real or imaginary "panic". <ok>

Just because we're playing badly at the moment doesn't make every signing a panic buy. We've got a quality player at a fair price. Mata's creativity is something that has been pretty absent in our play this season, so i'm looking forward to seeing him play.

Juan Mata said: "I am thrilled to be joining United. I have enjoyed some very happy years at Chelsea but the time has come for a new challenge. United is the perfect place for me and I am excited at the chance I have to be part of the next phase in the club's history.

"Chelsea is a top club and I have many friends there but you cannot turn down the chance to join Manchester United. I look forward to helping the manager and the team be successful in the coming years."

David Moyes said: "Juan is one of the finest playmakers in the game today and it's a real pleasure to have secured his signature. He's been instrumental in Chelsea's recent success, with a notable 28 assists and 32 goals in his last two Premier League seasons.

"I have been impressed with the excitement he has shown to be part of the new Manchester United. I know our fans have admired Juan for some time now – he has always played well against us – and I know they will be delighted to see him in the red of United, starting on Tuesday."

Very good signing for you lot. Not sure he is worth near £40m or whether he is ultimately what you need with having Kagawa and Rooney. His quality however, is unquestionable. A great player and just increases your number of game winners, still think you need a Pogba/Vidal/Gundogan type of midfielder. Otherwise, DM has made a good signing.

For the first time in his time at United, Moyes doesnt look like he panicked one bit.

He had help in this, make no mistake but the fact hes making strides forward and has that elusive first big name will only help him in the future.

he coy bastard also basically says more to come in january.

My opinion of moyes has altered ever so slightly. If he gets the team playing good football, 90% of my problem with him will go. Long way to go yet but good start!!
