I want to see Massa back at his best. But the whole silverstone debacle was clearly a setup issue too. Kimi Raikkonen spun 3 times as well during that race. I have to assume that ferrari set the car up for a dry race, not the monsoon that ensued. i was half expecting a plague of locusts to appear.

I remember being very surprised that the race went on without a safety car. Raikkonen may have spun off three times but he still managed to bring the car home in 4th. If it was a setup issue then that obviously doesn't help but surely Massa has a say in that doesn't he? He could have chosen a different set up so he's as much to blame for how the car handles as anyone is. Also, it should be mentioned that Massa had his fair share of luck that year too; inheriting a win in Belgium and also in France when Kimi's exhaust broke. One could argue that Hamilton had incredibly bad luck in 2007 in Brazil or even last year in Spain in the closing laps and against Webber in Singapore. It comes back around in the end though.

Are people forgetting that 'set-up' is a direct consequence of driver input? Set-up is no excuse whatsoever. It is up to the drivers to have the necessary conviction to provide the necessary feedback, if they have the necessary ability. I have to say that this has never been a strong point for Massa or Raikkonen! It is total nonsense to suggest that having a car set-up badly is no responsibility of the driver! He (or she) is the most influential person in this regard; by far!
Bother, i forgot about the whole driver input aspect. I wouldn't drive a car on gran turismo if i hadn't made some alterations myself, let alone a real racing car. It seems, as usual, you are right Cosicave.
