Yes I am a retired Accountant - used to specialise in insolvency issues - but there again look at the previous occupations of several of the Board. I am sure that they are fully aware of the financial realities.
I think many if not most City supporters are well aware we must be prudent with the money we recieve from the Premiership but at the same time we want to celebrate Norwich City's success As St Paul said himself, the last 2 years are nothing short of a miracle and may it continue into the Premiership. We are not deluded, just excited and optimistic (which is how we should be) Please don't piss on the parade before it starts I for one have great faith in St Paul and his disciples and don't see why his success cannot carry on in the Premier League. No we won't play in the Champions League or even finish in the top half of the table but look at last year many teams are beatable. If anyone can cause upset this season, I would bet on St Paul Don't forget, we also have His Royal Highness ''McNally'' he does not take any prisoners. If he want to get rid of someone, they will go Don;t worry , be happy at least you not a binners supporter
I do not see how anything I said is raining on your parade - I was only pointing out what is already contained in the business plan of the Board as a possibility. Are they raining on your parade? The main thrust of my note was to point out that as well as buy we have got to sell and in the current environment it is easier to buy than sell especially if you are trying to sell League 1 players who are on Premiership contracts. I suggest that you read the comments made by Craig Brown again. Nobody has greater respect for the talents of our Chief Exec than I but to suggest that in this day and age of Player Power and the PFA he can just force players to leave is just nonsense. All I was pointing out was the fact that we couldn't afford to pay people to just train and sit in the stand and if we cannot sell the players we want to sell then there is the danger - and no more than that - that PL might be forced to sell a player he would rather keep and supporters need to not just look at transfer targets but also keep an eye on the departures board.
I think i need a drink 1950............lighten up man you may be a retired accountant but obviously know nothing of Management (I do) it's called managing people out, it is done all the time in business. This after all is a business and McNally is a business man. You don't get the point!!!!!!!!! We are all aware of the ''Business Plan'' and at this point don't care. I for one just want to see City play against great opposition (on Fox Sports here in Mexico) Also hopefully a game or 2 when I come home for a short time after christmas If you have a season ticket, I bet you sit in the ''River End'' with all the other old miseries (sorry but true) I was a season ticket holder for many years, seen many ups and downs. Celebrate the ups, live with the downs. I have supported this team all my life and always will, even if we were in the Conference!!!!!!!!!!!!! Leave the business to the ''board'' lets just enjoy the football

Sorry to rain on your parade again Mexican but I was at every game at Carrow Road in the 1950's when, if it had existed, City would have been relegated to the Conference. I don't sit in the River End but if I told you where I do sit I would get even more abuse. I won't bore you with details of my ' Management experience ' except to say that for the last 20 years of my working life I handled Companies in Administration which needed to be slimmed down and then wound up or sold. These Companies often found themselves in trouble because some clever Dick in 'Management' forgot the business plan. I dealt with 2 Football Clubs in administration and therefore know that Clubs are not allowed to talk directly to Players - they have to go through their Agent - and the PFA have to be involved in most negotiations as well. Why do you think that Clubs in Administration can get rid of Club Staff but not Players? I really am surprised at the hostility as I was only pointing out that we might have to sell before we can buy and the difficulties we might have in selling the Players we want to get rid of but, as you say, leave it to the Chief Exec as I'm sure that he has not forgotten about the Business Plan.
McNally promised that we'd stay in the top flight. If I'm not mistaken. I am fairly confident we will stay up because Lamberts team fights for every point. That makes a massive difference when its all added up at the end of the season. Losses to draws and draws to wins, I think its called "Norwich time"
This is not obuse or hostility just another point of view. Ok so you have extensive ''Business experience''but still ''YOU'' miss the point! Reguardless of who is in the 25 man squad. we will enjoy the experience. That is what being a supporter is about, not ''Business Plans'' I'm not really concerned about where you sit or how important you are. I have in fact sat with Delia on several occassions at CR, although a lovely lady, would rather sit in the Barclay or Snake Pit thanks. I hope you are not offended, that was never the intention, but boy I hope your wife (if you have one) has a sunny character because i have a strong feeling you live in a ''Glass half empty '' world. Please enjoy next season and your retirement, we are back in the big time!
1950, and Mexican, I think you're both right. Simple fact is we can only enjoy following our club, if there's a club to follow. For that to be the case, the business side has o be right. We can never again find ourselves in the position we were in when Delia arrived (or where we were at the start of the league 1 campaign). Thank goodness it seems that under the current regime at C.R. we can finally have faith that all is well behind the scenes. We're still a club in transition, and a realisitc expectation is that we'll be bottom 5 or 6 all season. But, we're in for a hell of a season. I'm going to enjoy every second of it, goodness knows we've had to wait and suffer for it.
Thank you Exile for your timely intervention - I fully accept all you say. The arguement had got so personal that we had not realised that we were argueing at cross purposes.
