We've won 3 in 5 and only lost to 2 of the top 3 mate, we're getting there. To be fair, you look great going forward....
Mignolet has been nothing short of absolutely magnificent this season and he is an awesome keeper. In all fairness he has been the difference between us losing and winning games since the season start. He is in the top 3 EPL keepers now for sure but that unfortunately means there will be bigger fish than us looking at him as well. Hands off Fergie and Wenger unless you are talking about £20m bids.
£15million and Welbeck would do. We WILL lose Mignolet to a superclub, we just need to make sure we benefit from it.
He has done that, but he cannot SAVE a defense every game. If it wasn't for Krul, we'd be sitting here talking about the highest goal tally in premier league history. My final word is - I'd rather have Krul, you'd rather have Mig. Lets just agree to disagree like adults.
We usually sell our stars for **** all so if he does go, I expect that to change. I'd want £20m cash as a minimum. He is a top, top keeper. Would be nice if we could keep him and build a good side but we will never be in the champions league and that's where he should be playing.
Nailed on he will be playing Champions League soon enough mate, we just have to accept that. What a ****ing gem he is, the save from Defoe today was run of the mill for the lad! Says it all.
On that basis, bidding starts at £39.6 million, plus Welbeck, Lindegaard (back up for Westy...) & Cleverley.
Tash we were in exactly the same boat. Just played man city 72 hours ago you got more rest. We too are injury depleted but we didn't concede 7. Only villa have concede more than Newcastle in the Prem a very worrying statistic. We all know where Villa are heading. Party with pardew. Mig has been fantastic all season and we would provably be in the bottom 3 if he had not been our keeper this year.
Krul needs competition and a competent defense line in front of him.... right now, he doesn't have that.
The last two games have contributed to this greatly, and it's not really all down to poor defending. If we wanted anything against United and Arsenal we had to play a very attacking approach and leave ourselves exposed at the back, pretty much how Blackpool played when they were up, but all season. They scored 3 goals against good sides, but conceded 5. It almost worked vs United. The only way we could have scored all those goals is if we threw men forward. If we hadn't have played the style we have over the last two games, we'd not have scored 6 goals, and most likely still lost, but only by a 1 or 2. Most people are so bone headed and don't even look at the reasons as to why things happen, they just see things like the amount of goals conceded and think "oh well that's possible relegation now then". I'm not worried at all.
