Of course but just because he did it once doesn't mean he could do it again. Not feeling it.

If it's Karanka then you can look forward to some more United loans. <whistle>

Boro weren't close to the mess we're in. We've got a continuity of player with half a decade of losing mentality, defenders who are either not good enough or don't have their head here and No midfielder to control games and link defence with attack. Even we did a Monty and got Ancelotti in I wouldn't be convinced we'd just start winning games. We've got good players but missing vital components.

I don't see the appeal of Karanka. We're not Boro, it's not some magical transferable blue print, I want a better history of getting teams out the **** than a 1 club man.

Karanka would be above a lot of the candidates mentioned in my opinion, but I just don't think he's right for the predicament we're in right this second.

I think we need someone to unite the whole club from top to bottom and I don't think that's in his nature as a manager.

For me at least I'm not dead against him or anyone really, apart from the likes of O'Shea, I'm just scratching my head as to how he could be seen with any certainty as the chosen one and the answer to our prayers.

Seems to me that whoever we pick is going to struggle to keep their head above water and it's impossible to say who'd be best at it just going off their past records. Allardyce is one of the few I'd be almost certain could do it because he's done it for us before but I'm even more sure that he wouldn't touch us with a barge pole.

Nail hit firmly on the head.

We need someone who can inspire the players and fans alike. From the list of candidates there are only a handful who could pull this off.

Karanka appears to have the same dour personality as David Moyes, so it's a definite no from me.
