Don't they also have a revamped stadium from Euro 2004 as well, seats plenty, fills up, etc? They got like 30 million from the sale of Mourinho and AVB too I believe.
United paid 30M for Anderson? Thats a double FFS I guess Slur Alex needed to pay for that Flat just off Central Park some how Bebe used for the refurb
The thing with Porto is they have a great model but also massively advantages because the Portuguese league isn't great and they dominate it. What they tend to do is buy upcoming young players from South America who suit the Portuguese League (Falcao, Rodriguez, Jackson Martinez as well as buying their rivals best players. This means they can get decent young South American players who if they perform, and most will because it's a relatively easy league in which they dominate, then they can sell them for huge fees to the rest of Europe and then use that money to repeat. Yes, it takes skill to pick the right players but they have enough money to be able to take a few risks here and there.
Personally voted yes, won't be this season might not be next but it will eventually end in tears, I suspect he will win a few things first though.
Eto'o, Torres and Ba haven't scored and it's Chelsea's worst start in the Abramovich era: So, after shock Euro defeat by Basle, are they cracking up?
And it's Euros. For the service he gave us, 15m pounds approx was bloody good business for a C.L winner. Anderson however....
Knowing us we probably would!! Obviously not every C.L winner is a great player but it certainly must increase their market value. You paid about the same for Glen Johnson. I know who, having seen them both a lot was the better right back.....and his name was not Glen Johnson!
Can't believe Mourinho is blaming poor form on trying to improve their style I thought Hazard, Mata and Oscar played some brilliant football last year whereas this year it's dull, flat and defensive football. Looks more to me like he's restricting play rather than improving it.
