He's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy. And he's been badly missed. He links the midfield with the back four - one big problem solved. And in 17 year old Luke Shaw we've solved another major problem, at Left Back. Now if Gazzaniga continues to improve we'll have have a defence we can rely on.
I think this is what N A had in mind. He knows what he is doing. He is sorting the defense and in fact the whole team. We saints supporters are very fortunate at this point in time so enjoy the ride. Might be a limo instead of a bus if we are very lucky!!
Cork has definitely benefited from Ramirez returning and being able to provide a little support on defense, if only just to temporarily slow down attacks to allow everyone to get back. Shaw has helped as well. And also Puncheon has been very, very good (especially last game) in knowing when to attack and when to hold up. Saints still like to attack quickly, but as a whole you just see a lot more moving the ball around and being willing to wait a little rather than attack and panic, attack and panic all the time. Of course Cork has played a role in this as well. He's been fantastic. But I also like Davis, and never really thought he played that badly. Cork should continue to start of course. I'm just saying that Davis can do the job as well and it is nice to have some depth. I like the substitution of Davis for Ramirez late to give Saints a little more defense. Would like to see JWP see some action off the bench as well but hard to find a place for him at the moment.
