When you look at the figures banded about, and those paid fir imo much lesser players in previous championship seasons, the amount offered was an insult to Sunderland and even more so to Clarke. Someone went at the beginning of last season fir 15m with far worse stats than Clarke last season. And he looks even better this!
Yes, if i take my sunderland hat off id still say yes!! He has everything youd want in a winger, pacey, great close control, work rate, scores goals, sets up goal and mixes up his game brilliantly I think leeds have some cracking wingers but id pick clarke ahead of all of them Tonight wasnt even him at his best n he scored twice n caused them loads of problems
They couldn't handle him in tbe second half. I think he is a tough little bastard aswell gets kicked to bits at times and just carry on!
Best I've seen, can anyone suggest anyone better? Scoring for fun, great all round game. I like how he doesn't try to do too much, he plays the percentages and doesn't try to do anything outrageous and it pays off.
On wyscout the other day i looked at what they had statically the best team this season, clarke n ballard both in it and both rated as the best in their positions
was about to post this. A lot of love for Clarke tonight and it’s great to see but I think arguably Ballard has an even more stronger case for “best in his position”. Signed a new contract recently as well \o/
New contract should be looked at now. I know he’s only a year deep but he’s just superb. We couldn’t replace him if he went.
I know Clarke will get the plaudits for his 2 goals tonight but I thought Ballard was absolutely immense and would probably be my man of the match
Ballard is superb, he could easily be playing PL now. There’s always the worry of a knock but my days he is a superb CB, for the level he is daft.
Aye Ballard is superb, it's been clear from day one how good he is. He makes a great partnership with O'Nien who doesn't have his height but complements him as a CB pairing. I've said I'd like to see O'Nien in midfield but I'm starting to think that him and Dan at CB could work for us in the prem.
