For Wenger to resign? Should have taken the opportunity after the FA cup final (which now looks like a poisoned chalice as he clearly thinks he still has something to offer).

    Nothing new here.

Club is fundamentally broken. Owners don't care, board aren't interested, the manager is clueless and the players' confidence is shot to pieces.

Same old same old from the last 10-15 years - don't expect any major changes. A few signings here and there will change nothing.

Oh and I wish Alexis well on his way out. Maybe Wenger can throw in Ozil as part of the deal.

    Totally agree.
After the Lucas Perez fiasco of last season when he let a skilful goalscorer rot I have no confidence in Wengers tactics or team choices whatsoever.

It was only last season when you lost confidence in Wenger's tactics?! <yikes>

I think some managers value their egos more than clubs interest.

But always thought Arsene may do better than Alex when leaving. Not so sure

The thing is, this is all nothing new. The same old problems have mearly gotten worse.

There's no accountability. Wenger lets players winde down their contracts, he makes the same tactical mistakes year upon year but he does'nt get reprimanded. He gets a new deal.

The Club are happy with him for one reason or another and herein lies the issue. If your Boss tells you you are doing a good job, gives you a massive amount of freedom offers you regular payrises - would the incentive to push harder/try new things be there?

Gazidis etc.. are culpable just as much as Wenger. Maybe more.

But does Wenger really do that and is it his responsibility anyway? This is the problem, we've spent most of our time blaming Wenger when it's the managements responsibility to support the coach and take care of everything else outside of what happens on the pitch. They've leached off his achievements for so long that they've neglected their own duties or to develop Arsenal further. It's almost as if their whole strategy was based around the stadium rebuild and extra revenue that they completely ignored the actual footballing side of things.

But you're completely correct that what is happening now is nothing new and has deteriorated.
