I asked the question " Is it time to move on " we have been losing posters hand over fist, for nigh on a year, with this latest gagetry, IMO, will kill this site. you will have 25 posters, no feedback only thumbs up, thumbs down. This is a forum,,,,,,, not VOTE FOR JOE..........................Smell the coffee, your own individual call.
Derry why would anyone want to introduce younguns to this site? I very nearly regretted it big time. My son is only 10 but loves to read the posts. Hardly comments but like to browse other boards too. Now when people, & I use that term very loosely, are free to post whatever vile animal & gay porn on a football forum without using the nsfw thing where children might see it then imo the site is falling on it's arse. Mick seems to pander to whatever Gormless Crap wish. I'm surprised he hasn't lost masses of his ad revenue. If that's the way he wants to run it, fine, it's his site to do what he likes with.
Gotta be honest, I spend less time on the site every day. Facts are, if there was anther site with a decent SAFC/NUFC community, which had some other fans as well, i'd be tempted to jump ship. What we have now, is Mags not prepared to be controversial, as they may get neg rep, and as Bill says in the OP, the option to just like, or 'meh' a post, as opposed to starting convo or debate. It's getting to be 'a bit ****'.
When I'm on 6-2 shift I'm knackered, like now as I have to be up at 4.45. When on 2-10, there's nee body on by the time I have my meal, shower & shave. So less time for me too. Less time on my hands a blessing in disguise I guess.
NHS letting me down marra so I took the bull by the horns & looked my problems up & found out some things which they haven't bothered to tell me. Simple physical exercises to get me some improvement. It's working to a certain degree. Emotionally, not bad bud still inclined to have bad times when I could just combust with pure rage & then cry myself to sleep. Kids, job & new training course taking up a lot of time, lol.
I'm starting to spend less time on here anarl. I just think that atm, there's nowt really to talk about with SAFC. The season's nearly over, everyone seems to be quite content with the way things are. By the start of next season I reckon the SAFC board will be busy again, new transfers, expectations for the following season etc.
Glad to hear your getting there though mate, handling the bad times is what makes you who you are. Summers coming mate, you and the young un, good times ahead
I posted a lot of transfer gossip during the winter window & got a lot of negative responses for it so I shall not be bothering during the summer. I will leave it to others.
I believe this site can improve, I also think it can fail,,,,big time. but this is not my call, I will stay with this site, but not blindly. I dont make any money from NOT606, hence have a freedom of choice, But and the big But, please stop ****ing it about. whoever you are " MICK" I know its your site, your baby, but as Ive already said "why try to fix something thats not broken" Yeah it needed adjustments to make it work via discussion, but not by non dicussion, ie thumbs up /thumbs down. QUESTION,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,who would be the posters?
Billy, I didn't realise this was possible and in all honesty I'm gobsmacked that this could happen without being filtered! My wee lad likes to read it too (8yrs) but only when I'm with him as we all know the odd adult pic (I've seen nothing hard core mind) could be on. In regards to the gormless crap, I know what you mean lad but you'd be surprised what floats some peoples boats so to speak. We need to advertise the board (T Shirts - joke) as I do to who ever will listen. I know in some peoples eyes this can bring some undesireables onto the site but procedures should be put in place to deal with these people after all we are hearing more and more stories of people facing legal action for statements made online.
I agree with the post about the "like-dislike" thingy, unnecessary! I like the site as it was, even read some of the mags posts on here (never go to their side). This forum is the only way I can keep up with things, yes I know there are other sites, but this one, to me, is down to earth. A bunch of lads and lasses who I can relate to, people from all walks of life who love Sunderland AFC. If it hadn't been for this site, I wouldn't have known about the SAFC Keroche in Kenya, wouldn't have been able to do my bit. wouldn't have known about others problems or been able to contribute. Yes its a football forum, but it's also like a community, where "most" people care about each other, OK it's cyber care but it's still CARE. I am one of many who don't post too often, simply because my thoughts have usually already been posted by someone else, and don't want to just post "I agree". I'm not able to give you up to date, or breaking news, about the club or team, but appreciate the threads that do give input. I appreciate the off topic posts, the jokes and often fierce debate. I get annoyed when someone disappears because they feel they have got too much stick for what they have posted, but at the end it's their opinion, against someone elses opinion, which, occasionally gets a bit aggressive or goes too far. There have been newbies who have been welcomed with open arms and never posted again Please don't go elsewhere because of some gimmicky technology, just don't use it. I like the site and hope it continues. Appologies if this is disjointed, trying to type it while keeping the boss happy. Well done lads, keep up the good work.
