To be fair to Maccer, he ain't got no money, I think the fact we couldn't buy Burke for 600,000 and Rowe for 400,000 tells the story.
But he instead brought Murphy for more than those two put together then stated how it was the first time he was able to play a system/formation he had been longing to play after getting Kebe and Stewart on loan. The quality of his signings Hunt, Kebe, Stewart, Murphy, Wootton, Zakliukas have to be questioned are any of them really any better than Pearce, Tonge, Brown and company? Imagine we had not blown our budget on just three of those, Hunt, Murphy and Wootton and instead we had Burke and Rowe from day one, would we be better or worse than where we are now?? And what a monumental mistake signing Stewart on loan but with a promised contract at the end, we don't even get the benefit of try before you buy, we get try and lumbered. Kebe on loan only signing a permanent deal if we get promoted, at least we won't have to sign him. Not that anyone higher than league one will want him
If Festa does come in he won't last, probably be gone before the new season starts. Then we can hopefully attract a better manager who "might" be able to dictate a few terms of his own. I would see Festa as a stop gap, a transitional manager? A dressing room spy even, a guy to give Cellino a neutrals run down of what we have, who has promise and if we even have a dressing room rebel or two? Something has been wrong in the dressing room for a while, right back to the reports that someone was whining to GFH Get Cellino in stamp out the BS and under performers shipped out, go through some unrest change and turmoil now before next season starts.
No offense intended but I think that view is delusional. If he has had a coaching merry-go-around/revolving door at Caligari for >20 years why would you think Elland ROad will be any different?
I posted this on todays morning thread but thought it should go here too. Seriously is Bmac doing any different to Warnock? Bringing in his mates, poor signings, poor football its only cos he is nice that we aren't jumping on his back. #Doit4Redders will be round again soon
Well if he isn't any different it will mean we are under performing and he won't accept anything less than challenging for promotion
After the two great signings in the past week, this is exactly the reason why BMc needs time. If he's actually being supported in the right way (which it looks like he is from someone at the club!), and he can get the players in he actually wants then he should at least be given time to turn us into genuine promotion candidates. If he does spend more money and get better players in and we don't move up that table, then it most certainly is time for him to go. Otherwise we're just going round and round in circles, and if someone else comes in now, he would be left with two/three previous managers' players in such a mish mash if a squad. Stability has to be the key. Leicester are a fine example of this at the moment.
He brings in what seems like two quality players on loan yet he can't see how poor Kebe and Stewart are. Was the manager the only person on the planet last weekend that wouldn't have substituted Kebe?
God yeah, how dare a team that struggles for goals fail to score against a team that doesn't concede... Jesus Christ if you could see yourself from the outside you'd wet yourself laughing
I know right! Only thing these guys can smell is a big pile of money that will never see Leeds United
