Where on earth do you get the figures for Varney and Tonge? Warnock had to raise funds for buying Kenny and he received £600k for the sale of Clayton, he also was forced to sell Snodgrass along the way and you can't possibly include swapping Morison for Becchio. I stand by my statement, how many players has Brian sold and how much did he get for them to put back into the pot? Add up the sale of Clayton and Snodgrass deduct that from his spend and then you have a better reflection of what Warnock was given to spend, I can also safely say your figures for Tonge and Varney are debatable, nominal fee's were paid for both, your figures include sell on and promotion bonuses which are not going to be trigured. I am not saying Warnock is a better manager, he is worse than Brian but then that reflects how poor Brian has done that he can't improve on what Warnock achieved and the true fact is Brian has had more money without being forced to sell.
Kinda wrong. A straight red card results in a 3 match ban. The appeal can result in additional games, less games or no change. In this case, no cange so 3 game ban stands.
Thats why i said I've got 3.25 mill there not including the swap of Morison. I don't see why its not that fair though considering he had 2m to spend, it just so happened he used it in a swap deal for Morison rather than spending it elsewhere. They are all general figures used in every report I have seen. As I said, the numbers are speculative but not hard to understand. He transfer listed Clayton and then brought in absolutely **** midfielders for not that much cheaper, we had a gem in Clayton but he didn't want him for some reason, if we had clayton now, we'd be a better team imo. Also bear in mind Snoddy was sold after all our summer spending was done, and also as I said, these are just the transfer fees. This doesn't even include the free transfer's wages which by all accounts were high. Also, if you are saying don't include add-ons then wootton only cost a nominal fee at best, all of his fee is in add-ons as far as I'm aware, so realistically Brian only spent just over 1m in the summer. I think Brian has improved the squad actually. We have competition for almost every place in the team, most of the signings he has made have had a positive run in the team at some point during the season and then lost their place for different reasons e.g. injury or loss of form. I like the fact that McD is prepared to drop a player he spent 1m on if he isn't playing well, warnock would never have done that. Our current form is a big worry, I'll agree and I have questioned McD at times but I do believe we will get out of it. He has actually also been quite unlucky in a lot of ways during his time at Leeds as well.
Hunt is coming back from an injury, Smith is suspended and Blackstock is injured for the rest of the season otherwise any one of these 3 would be in the starting line-up. Zaliukas is out of form and Wootton has just come back from injury a couple weeks back and Lees and Pearce are actually in pretty good form at the back (Lees to a lesser extent). Murphy is horribly out of form so thats completely understood and last time I checked Stewart and Kebe were starting games. So really most of his signings have struggled with injury problems or are playing in the team at the moment except for 2 of them who are out of form. He has used his squad where he could, its just we needed to use our squad over the christmas period but when we dive into the deep depths of the squad is when we find the truly **** players like Varney and when we are relying on them is when we struggle. Its no coincidence we have lost form when we have relied on these players.
I mostly agree with this assessment. BeeMacDee cannot win re signings - if they are kept in the starting 11 and play badly he would be vilified for playing them. He drops them (rightly) and he should not hav esigned them. I think they will come good. Patience, people, patience.
So kebe and stewart have actuallty performed? I'm allways glass half full but come on! Jonny patience! Yeah more of the same rubbish spouted as we've heard over the last ten years. I like BM but the owners should get off twitter and put up the cash, Wasn't it,the money is in place for jan transfers? One day left........
Just over a month ago when Leeds were 6th, the king of spin put this out http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co....we-will-get-to-premier-league-haigh-1-6330575 - its a funny old game
I know this, if he didn't get injured though he'd be in the team right now and in fairness we wouldn't be in this massive streak without a win imo. either McD always said he needed the use of the whole squad and he was right, problem is the whole squad isn't good enough
Understandable that this is the way that many feel after the 10 years, but why make the current folks accountable for the Bates years?
Cellino is even thought to have wanted Festa in the dugout alongside McDermott during Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich – an idea that was rejected on the day of the game. Festa is also understood to have turned up to a Leeds training session at the start of the week in a clear move to undermine McDermott. McDermott said: “This has been one of the most difficult periods I’ve had as a manager, especially the last few days. “Some of the stuff that’s gone on has not been pleasant and it doesn’t belong in football in my opinion. I REALLY FEEL SORRY FOR B.McD. HE IS A GOOD GUY & DECENT BLOKE WHO CLEARLY CARES FOR THE CLUB & IS GETTING SHAFTED ALONG WITH THE FANS.
Josh the only reason Brian has been able to create competition is because he hasn't sold a single player. He inherited Warnocks squad he has signed 9 players in and zero out
How long has Hunt been injured, how did he pass a medical, why was he played if he had an injury......I was one of his main supporters, but even I think we signed the wrong brother...
So with none of Warnocks signings sold and another 9 incoming from Brian we must have a pretty big wage bill from all the deadwood.
