    What is this drug?

I'm staying at my mother's place as she has cancer. When I first came up here 6 months ago she was in a bad way and going downhill fast yet the chemotherapy has worked wonders and now she's up and about (hoovering upstairs at this moment) full of life and feeling totally well. They can't cure her but they can give her drugs to slow the growth of tumours and more chemo to keep it in check. She's not an old lady at 65 so why shouldn't she get these drugs to keep her going for a few more months/years? The postcode lottery is shameful. We are lucky as I've read of cases where people have been refused the same drug that my mother is getting.

im sure you wouldnt have the same approach if it was you who needed the drug. where do we draw the line? stop giving people treatment for colds which we consider trivial but can kill children in third world countries? nah
