thought i would throw this in : a conversation ive had a lot with people as to what is actually a sport. ive put most of the common ones above, feel free to add any others

I hear you there monarch! Mine is more of a hack. Turned the corner about a year ago and was hitting some great stuff. However, I appear to have gone back round the corner and am playing some sh*t stuff!

Sport. An activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively.

I was finding this difficult until I realised it wasn't multiple choice. Then I found Tewkes' definition very useful.

Never even heard of wieght lifting, wtf is that?

Please add nordic ****ing walking to the list <doh> jesus ****ing christ <laugh>

I nicked this from the Wycombe forum to see if anyone would be interested. I've copied your posts over to the Wycombe forum but the vote doesn't get carried over. Feel free to join in on their thread. Or we can keep them separate as you wish.

Tiddlywinks. Have to be dubious about this even though thumb injuries are common. Has been put up as an Olympics event, however.

Careful, Jongleur! You're referring to one of my favourite games as a kid! I used to put my mother's green chenille cloth on the lounge table and 'flip them in the egg cup' with impunity- actually I used a large counter. I still hold the local record- 107 without missing. Thumb injuries aren't the problem (you must be doing it wrong)- more likely a retroverted carpal disfigurement.<laugh>
PS. Subbuteo is my idea of the next Olympic pastime- push 'em through the legs of the synchronised swimmers. That'll make their hair curl!
