Again I think it's not as simple as name change wrong or name change right. Because the rules do change (as someone stated above) and this depends on your emotional attachment to the name. One side has an emotional attachment to the name Hull City and the other does not, or at least not such a strong attachment to it. Therefore your perception of the outcome of the proposed name change is shaped by your individual views about it changing based on that emotional attachment.
well if he leaves and we get placed into administration, we will lose 10 points. if he leaves, he will want his money back. so the only option is to find another sugar daddy to help support the club. As we aren't an established premier league club, we're in an unfashionable area. we don't own our own ground - but apart from that..............
Along with the fact it's totally ****ing stupid and there isn't a single benefit to be had. He can't just 'leave' he's the owner, he has to sell up to someone else. If someone else comes in then they'll either be prepared to pay him off or he'll be prepared to forget about the loans, maybe a combination of the two. If that doesn't happen there'll be no sale and he'll be going nowhere, sadly. If he does go, then we've escaped this ridiculous situation he's dragged us into.
He could just refuse to fund the club anymore. I believe Gretna's chairman did this because of his ill-health. And given that we are not self sufficient, we'd be screwed. Didn't a situation where the owner refused to fund the club anymore happen at Anzhi too? Which is why they had to ship £300k a week Samuel Eto'o out to Chelsea.
Gretna was because the owner died & his family had no interest, I think. Bearing in mind your fear that he may just walk away, why would people be happy with an owner in place who appears so pig headed & volatile?
Better to kow tow to him and accept every hare-brained spiteful piece of nonsense that comes our way then?
We're already screwed. Allam can't afford to run the club any more, there's no more money; he's confirmed that and as we know, he's never told us anything that isn't true. His failure to turn the club into one which makes money by now has cost himself and the club.
I think it's because it's the lesser of 2 evils. Administration, or an owner who doesn't care for his supporters? If he himself thinks we are an unsellable product (hence his continued threats to just walk away from the club), then how on earth does he expect to get funding from anywhere else?
CTWD members would rather HULL CITY played in league 10 with no Assem Allam in charge.. Then see Assem Allam stay and watch Hull Tigers in the premier league. .
If he's the successful businessman people portray him to be & he's running the club as a business then will we not be a salable product rather than unsalable? If he believes the club to be unsalable then why are people happy with his tenure? If this were to be the case then he must already be running the club into the ground? Do you believe he would & could afford to walk away from around £100m? If he did, do you think there'd be detrimental affects to his other business as a result?
a few more seasons in PL should establish us. hopefully by not giving out substantial contracts, we can slowly gain self sufficiency and tell our senile codger to 'go forth and multiply'.
basically to be self-sufficient we need to make more money than we lose. some shrewd contracts and good marketing and we should be OK.
