Asked on football focus before the games today, and still a pertinent question after that display... Is Eto'o past it, or has he got enough left in the tank to be a success in the premier league for a season or two? How do you see it?

It'd be unfair to judge him solely on one performance, so this is purely speculative.

Personally, I've voted no... I do think he's a good professional, and still has enough pace and that intuitive movement to pose problems for premier league defenders. I don't think he'll bag 20 goals, or get near even, but I think success for him would be coming in and complimenting the Chelsea attack to the extent that overall it's a more daunting prospect. He's a clever player and never static, so it's got to be more successful than having Barbie sulking around...

Eto'o might just be a very good buy. He was rusty today and about a 10th of a second slow in his movement, but he was where a striker should be to take advantage of the rare good ball that comes from our midfield. Game time will sharpen him up, but he looks like a natural goal scoring predator to me. Wish he was bigger and stronger playing one out.

Yeah i thought Eto'o suited us perfectly. Aside from his finishing (which is obviously the most important thing) everything else was good. He'll get 15+ goals for us this season.
