We have played some good stuff since they came. Villa first half, Chelsea, Fulham, yesterday first half and Spurs (until Gouffran got injured). The trouble is he changes it when we're either winning 1-0 or at half time (granted, not always but a lot of the time) when we have the initiative and should be finishing teams off. Substituting Gouffran game after game is becoming old.

Does the lads lack of fitness not concern you though? It does me. He starts games looking lively and then just dies a slow death. That said yesterday was solely the centre half problem. It meant him, Cabaye, Perch, Jonas got caught in a kind of no mans land running further than should have had to. I'll cut Gouffran some slack as he is new to the league but I expect him to resolve the stamina issues once he has had a pre season. We need everyone to get us through to the end of this season, rest up and come back ready for a big season. We must sign two strikers and give the manager some options. We need a proper big option (Shola doesn't count), and some pace. Even WBA have Long and Odemwingie to change it up. I'm happy to let Campbell be our 4th choice. I also think, particularly if Colo goes, we'll need two centre backs, one of which must have leadership qualities.

We are fine in the holding midfield area, but we also need some more creative options. And finally whoever we sign must be less injury prone. And though some might think differently, I worry about signing Carroll for this reason. He just seems to have long and regular spells out.

Pardew is an arsehole and he has made every one of our players worse than they were when they signed them.

I think Gouffran just tries so hard and needs to learn to pace himself for the rigours of our game. I also think that he should play up front with Cisse. He would complement perfectly.

We definitely need a couple of strikers in the summer. Shola is terrible. He offers nothing and is anonymous most times he comes on. Defensively, we need someone to play with Mbiwa if Colo is leaving. Taylor just doesn't cut it for me. He's a Geordie and has loads of passion but he is a weak link.

Saylor I like alongside a leader telling him what to do, but isn't as good as some think. Very injury prone too. As part of a set of 4 defenders with Mbiwa, a younger lad and a first choice leader then great. Then you can manage his fitness, and pick games for him to play.

Shola has been masquerading as a PL footballer for 10 years. Enough is enough and the board need to accept we need funds to move on.

In terms of football career v football ability then Shola deserves an award for getting blood out of a stone. European records, nights in the bernabau, status as the mackemslayer. His career deserves its place in the history books, which is probably the best place for it now though.

How Shola is still getting a game i'll never know. We need to bring in a couple of strikers. Adam Campbell to go out on loan.

Cisse has the ability to be one of the top strikers in the country, but our manage has some strange belief that plonking that leech Shola next to him, will help the situation.

    Pardew Out.

"We have this fast clinical goal threat in our team, lets place this log under his feet, it will help his balance." - Pardew circa 2013

No Cisse is not a **** striker.

He's offside loads mainly because nobody sees the runs he makes.

Or rather, they might see them, but the team is not set up in a way which makes the most of his runs.

He needs genuine width to be supplied by creative players either side of him... and that just isn't possible with the current team shape/personnel.

I love people's logic on this board.

One camp says Cisse is ****e because he gets so many chances and converts a relatively small number of them.

Another camp says that it is Pardew's fault for playing a system that provides Cisse with so few chances.

<laugh> OK, so we just need the players and tactics to provide him with 25 glorious changes per game and he'll score a hat-trick each week and be a hero! <ok>

No, he is particularly good at getting into position, and so creates a lot of chances.

And nothing's broke: he is goign to have 15 goals this season and more next.

I really rate Cisse as a central striker and he does get the goals. Yes he misses some but all strikers do. The point is he gets himself in the right place.
He just needs somebody to play alongside and feed off - like Tash has said many times - as he is not a target man and our style of play (even with Willo not in the team) is to lump at least 50% of passes forward in hope. He needs to work on his off-side a bit, but equally, others need to understand the type of runs he will make and anticipate them. Cabaye did that to good effect last season and Marv has a few times this season. Others need to get on the same wavelength and he'd get more opportunities.

I must be lost as I don't fall into either camp. I like Pardew and I'm happy to give him time, and I like Cisse.
