Just let AVB mess up Spurs like he did Chavs.

Still no decent striker there and he's arsing round trying to get a price for modric he isn't worth. We sold Xabi for £35m yet Levy the dickhead reckons Modric is worth more than that and he's inferior to Alonso.

They will miss out on CL again and then Bale will **** off just like Modric and VDV will soon follow.

They will look back in a couple of years and wonder why they got rid of a Manager who took them from being a team who could hope for mid-table at best, to top 4 contenders, for a Manager who is all talk and no trousers.

I think thier best seasons are behind them unless Levy stops arsing round trying to win games of one-upmanship over a million here or there, and sign the players they badly need.

If they were to go into the season with the exact squad they have now they haven't got a prayer of top 4.

Modric is inferior to Alonso? Mourinho doesn't seem to agree with you on that now does he.

Mid table at best? We were challenging for a CL spot under Jol, it was just a year of madness from Ramos before 'Arry brought us back to where we were and then pushed us on to the next level.

On the OP's subject, I don't think AVB's ever said he's making him train on his own. As I understand it Modric is pulling the same "my head's not right" that he used to get out of games last season so really AVB is being lenient by allowing him to train on his own rather than with the rest of the squad. It's a difficult thing to manage and whilst 'Arry did very well with him last season he still couldn't get him playing until after the transfer window shut so I don't see why AVB could be criticised for not getting the little ingrate playing.

Challenging for top four under Jol? All that means is that you were good but not good enough. And you came out with the sorriest excuse ever..you blamed food poisioning. Spurs ship has sailed, if they were any good they would have signed Adebayor and paid him his wages. I just can't wait to see AVB flop again. Spurs in my view are nothing more than a top 6 side that got very very lucky. The other teams around them including Liverpool have strengthened, and they haven't. Its a different ball game now.

hmm, thats a strange quote considering its all over the net that Mourinho wants Alonso to be a madrid player for the duration of his [Mourinho's] time with the club while Madrid seem to be tooing and froing over Modric

seasons before your 4th place finish (1st one)
    8th
    11th

the 5th placed finish before that you were 8 points adrift from 4th you were never any threat.

I think what AVB is doing is a good thing. I remember our fans wanting the same for Torres when he had his head turned by Chelsea. I think as Spurs fans you should be hoping that Modric goes and he goes quickly so you can re-invest the money before the window shuts- that's what i'd want anyways

What I was saying is that we weren't mid table at best, we just got dragged down by a **** manager for one year. There's not really any point in getting into it but we had players throwing up at the side of the pitch so it clearly wasn't an "excuse".

Spurs being good would be defined by paying Adebayor £170k per week? I know you probably prize overspending as a great attribute because, lets face it, it's the only thing you're any good at but I really think it's pushing it to judge a team solely on that.

Oh and you lot were telling us how you'd strengthened last year too, how did that go? As I recall we didn't have a chance at finishing top 4 then either.

I never suggested that Mourinho wants Alonso out just that he clearly wants Modric to be his main playmaker and that Alonso will be competing with Khedira for a place which doesn't seem like he's better to me.

We finished mid table those times because of one **** manager, as I said. Before that we challenged for 4th under Jol, as I said. To keep it simple 'Arry didn't just turn water into wine, he took a squad of good players to the next level.

We did strengthen last summer, thats why tweaks are only needed this summer. Our problem last season wasn't the players..it was the tactics. Similar to you lot under Juande Ramos. A different manager with a different approach with more or less the same players can rejuvenate a side. You should know that as thats what happened with Redknapp with practically the same players Ramos had. To be honest, with the exception of Van Der Vaart, most of Redknapps signings were pretty awful.

AVB is the complete opposite to Redknapp when it comes to man management. He's a cold fish and as tactically useless as Redknapp. Thats a bad combination. You've a real chance of finishing anywhere between 6th and 12th. I can't see you worrying the top four any time soon. Especially with no strikers.
