Same 2 trialists that we has back at the end of October when we had 5 on trial. More details about them here when we all discussed them last time and it includes clips of them in action as well http://www.not606.com/threads/gas-vs-cheltenham-in-central-league.338104/#post-9853370
Just googled Ross Cook he is 23 years of age. Turned down a contract with Farnborough which would have trebled his wages so he's not money orientated so hopefully we can get him on board
Ross Cook Cook is a 24-year-old striker from Oakridge in Hampshire who is currently playing for Hartley Whintney in the Combined Counties League. Having learned his trade among the youth ranks at Fratton Park, Cook drifted out of the full-time game and followed a path that Matty Taylor once took by joining his local village side. His goals – along with strike partner Sam Argent – over the last season helped Hartley Whintney to the Combined Counties Premier Division title last season. Whitney also enjoyed extended runs on the FA Vase and FA Trophy as the dangerous duo have netted 92 goals between them. Cook scored 41 of those and has already bagged 30 goals this season as Whintney. Cook showed his loyalty to Whintney last year when turning down the offer of a 400 per cent pay rise to join Southern League side Farnborough Town. Cook has endured some disciplinary issues in the past and was hauled before a Football Association disciplinary committee in May following an altercation with former Rovers defender Ryan Green during an FA Vase match in February. The charges levelled at Cook were unproven, the case was dropped, and Cook has worked hard to improve his disciplinary record this season. Jae Heon Kim Kim, 20, is a South Korean attacking midfielder who was taken into Portsmouth's academy in 2012. He completed a two-year scholarship but was released in the summer of 2014 and was taken on by the Nike Academy – a squad of unsigned Under 20 players – following a successful trial. Kim was at the academy, which is funded by the US sportswear giant and is currently based at St George's Park, for the duration of the 2015/16 season. Following some impressive performances, Kim began to turn the heads of a number of Football League clubs and was offered a trial at Charlton Athletic last February. He was also reported that he was also attracting the attentions of both Cardiff City and Sheffield Wednesday.
Yeovil hoping to sign Connor Roberts on loan for the rest of the season, Roberts turned Yeovil down to join us at seasons start
DC says he knows where the team needs strengthening so hopefully he is trying to address the situation now and not leaving it until the window opens before he starts so that the new player / players will be with us for the second of January
I was stupid enough to open up a link to the Bristol Post site today via twitter. Its about 4 players being linked with us. That is why I thought, maybe worth a go at reading what it say. However, I was wrong. Its a stupid nothing of a story from bored journalists. Darrell Clarke is believed to have been given the nod to make at least three additions to his squad. It says.... In a bid to strengthen his squad Clarke is keen to add a goalkeeper, central defender and a defensive central midfielder – but who have Rovers been linked with so far? Conrad Logan - but may not quite fit the bill in terms of quality of distribution with his feet which Clarke demands of his goalkeepers. Oli McBurnie - but Clarke is unlikely to be in the market for a new striker. Roarie Deacon - but Clarke is unlikely to be in the market for wingers and will instead focus on strengthening the spine of his side. Danny Collins - At 36, Collins would not be a long-term option but could serve to provide a short-term fix. Who are linking these players with us? Are they just making up crap? They say DC is apparently after a GK, CD and a DCM. Instead suggesting players in these positions, they suggest a striker and a winger while adding DC would unlikely go for them. What is the point of suggesting these 2 players? They may as well said Messi and Ronaldo and say DC is unlikely to go for these 2 players due to finances! Just pointless! At least 2 of the 4 players are covering positions they seem to think DC is after. But admitting faults as to why DC is unlikely to go for them too. So basically they just found 4 random players (2 of which doesnt fit the positions that they think DC is after) and made up reasons why they could do a job with us but admitting DC is unlikely to go for them. What a waste of time. And as you all just read this post of mine, you now know how I feel about having your time wasted
After the way Connor Roberts was treated here in the way of game time and bearing in mind that McBurnie was only played as a sub when he was here and has recently made his first team debut for Swansea do they really believe that he would come here anyway
Conrad Logan was quite a character when he was on loan here, but we could probably get someone better between the sticks.
Why would Swansea loan us another player? we never play them. DC will sign more u21 players he wont anyone with experience
Head To Head Vs Coventry @Home PLD 13 W 7 D 3 L 3 GF 25 GA 17 Previous Meeting (excluding the Ray Kendall testimonial at Twerton) Saturday 4th April 1964 - The Gas - 0 - 1 Coventry City - Third Division
I have looked at some teams which seems an age ago that we last played. I found the following... Newcastle last played 1993 = 23 years Bolton last played 1990 = 26 years (before we played them this season of course) QPR last played 1980 = 36 years Coventry last played 1964 =52 years So you are correct. There isnt another current football league side that we havent played for that length
