Yup! I think it was 18 clubs, that voted for it to finish the way it did. No difference to my lot, we wouldn't have gone up anyway.

Probably affects Sunderland and Posh more.

Just can't afford to play and the worry has to be that the same will apply for , at the very least , net season .

I had thought of a solution, but didn't think clubs would be able to financially endure it. My idea would have been to restart the season at the same date/point next season, effectively scrapping the 2020/21 season. But completing the 2019/20 season in full, but just in the following year. That would give everything a long enough break to hopefully work around the virus. However, once the Germans restarted it more or less threw a spanner in the works, in convincing people otherwise.

A quarter of league one revenue already binned, with the exception of the play-offs, and no certainy next season will even start if we hit a second peak, which surely has to be a high probability with all these protests.

yeah but your idea limits next season to a 1/4 season yet surely that would limit revenue plus would present difficulties keeping both players / non playing staff . They are surely just hoping against hope they can run a full 20/21 season with fans allowed back in say November .
Personally , as i've said before , think a whol chunk of clubs will go to the wall even if then resurrected like Halifax .

Point being you are assuming the season can run as per normal in August. Seeing what we are seeing at the moment, do you seriously think that will be possible. They ain't even worked out yet, how to deal with the catering and pub trade that's supposed to be opening the end of this month, that gives the government and the footballing bodies, two more months to get their act together. At least with my idea, they would have got quarter of a season, which is better than potentially nothing.

oh i'm not as i said in my earlier post my guess is they are hoping to possibly be allowed crowds in say November . Personally i see a very bleak future in the lower leagues however i've been of the view for years that 100+ full pro clubs is unsustainable . The only hope i can see is the emergency causes a restructuring of player salaries to help clubs balance the books .

    This is lyndon.

Lyndon lost his wife and kid in a car crash years ago, he normally walks around King Street picking up rubbish, *** buts, cans and puts them in the bins. Local Kids take the piss cos he doesn't speak, (he does and quite well) lyndon got into heroin after losing his family, which resulted in him becoming homeless over time. That was years ago now he's off all drink and drugs but the damage has been done.

I asked him why he picks up rubbish from King Street, told me it's where the crash happened and the graves are back in Nigeria so he cleans up the road everyday for his wife and kid.

    Broke my heart.

Bought him some juice and crisps and sandwich and told him I'd say hello when I see him again.
