Spain goal was quite similar to Man City first goal against us, powerful shot from close range, right over keeper. Kenny got his hands in but the shot was just too powerful, Given didn't even get a touch...

Yes Finn and that was harsh on Kenny that day. When a ball is coming at you at 100mph at close range, its almost impossible.

I see Roy Keane's sticking the knife into what used to be his Country. Leopards and Spots, eh!

Watching Ireland tonight has parallels with QPR, can't retain possession, dodgy goalkeeper, outclassed and brilliant fans singing their hearts out in adversity...

add to that a shaky defence with poor cover for keeper, which might make keeper seem even worse than he really is, and you're spot on, same thing crossed my mind too

Chill, DT! Swords wasn't calling you Codface - and what about the reputation of those poor lassies

Goldrook I don't think anyone should be calling anyone Codface

Have you ever seen a man disfigured by a fish ... It's no laughing matter

No wonder you was relieved of your responsibilities if you are prepared to let this racial material to go through

Both Swords and Northolt are completely running wild ... What's next?... Laughing at people from Norwich ?

It's just amazing how we all see things differently. As an Irish man i am gutted but not surprised. Our three most technically gifted players are McCarthy, MacClean and Coleman. All three had very productive seasons, yet, only one was taken to the Euros (by default) and the other two were deemed not good enough despite playing most of the Prem season for Wigan and Everton respectively. As a nation we seem paralyzed on the big stage, be it Football, Rugby etc etc. We are almost afraid to compete properly and still accept this pathetic accolade of "at least we had a go". I despise Roy Keane for what he did in Saipan, but he is dead right. We are afraid of competing, afraid of winning and afraid of giving youth a chance. We have no business at the EUROs guys. Trap should have developed our youth and left a real tangible legacy instead of relying on players that are simply not good enough. I am gutted.

Disfigured by a fish? I'm casting my mind back to Jaws and may be you have a point

Norwich is no laughing matter

DT, as a fellow fisherman, I understand your frustration. I once saw a man half eaten by a Bream and i still have nightmares. Swords is out of control and a law onto himself. When i get home I will feed him to the big pike in Muckno.
