I need to get from London Victoria to Kingsbury - any idea how I do that if the tube's knackered?? Hoping to get at least two hours in Hennessy's.

Instead of going into Victoria, get off at Clapham Junction and get the overland to Willesden Junction and the Watford line from there.

Tramore had a disciussion earlier in the thread about going that way.

This tube strike combined with the Wembley ticket pick up is seriously messing up my plans!!!!

Gatwick to Victoria by train, no problem.

Victoria to Paddington, cab fare approx £12. I have to leave my luggage at my hotel.

Paddington to Wembley stadium for ticket pick up, cab fare approx £23-28.

Wembley to Hennessy's in Kingsbury, cab fare approx £10.

That could be £50 in total cab expense. But it will save me a lot of time and make it possible for me to spend some time at Hennessy's with you lot. IMO it's worth it.

I'm open to suggestions though. Or sharing of cabs, whatever. Over to the locals.

Norway are we still meeting you in Gatwick? If so maybe consider putting your bags in a locker at Victoria instead off going to hotel then pick them up after. That way we can organise an alternative route to wembley and share costs of taxi if necessary....

Anyone flying into LHR around 10am?

I'm considering booking a cab from LHR to Kingsbury. The rate is somewhere around £40 to £50 per car.

The chances of the strike affecting the tube service appear slim to me. Heathrow express to Paddington, tube to Baker Street, Metropolitan line direct to Wembley Park and change there for a jubilee line tube to Kingsbury. The whole journey will take less than an hour.

Fin - I think you're right. On the local news last night they said TFL expects to run a full service.

If their isn't a strike i'll be laughing.....20min drive to Denham, 7 mins to Wembley Stadium station, 5 min walk to Wembley Park Station, 3 mins to Kingsbury.....In pub by 10am........Planned to perfection :)

If no tube strike, I should be there between 11:30 and 12:00.

I'm gonna have a crazy journey. Gotta go from reading to my mums in Ladbroke grove to drop a shirt off for my sister to take to the game with her, then get to Kingsbury. Then on to wembely for the game, back to grove to catch up with a mate then back to reading. All on public transport. Not as bad as some of our overseas fans coming to the game but if the tubes are down the tubes. (couldn't resist that one) It's gonna be a long day. I've had a look on google maps and if the tube is totally buggered, I reckon I might walk from the pub to the game. Hopefully it will be less than an hour. Hopefully..... unless I'm half cut.... then I might take a little longer. LOL.

I've decided I'm going to be in the pub for 10am too, Stainesy. We need an advanced Not606 party for the meet and greets :)

I have been speaking to a local taxi company in Kingsbury, Aran Cars (yes, they sound quite Irish). Tel. +44-20-8238 9919. They seem quite reasonable. They charge £30 for a taxi to Luton Airport and £49 for a taxi for 4 people from Kingsbury to Gatwick. Might be worth ringing???

Wonder how much they'll charge from Hennesseys to Wembley?

Cabmania is a very good website. Taxis bid for your journey.

The strike I read about is a threat to switch off the electricity, which would absolutely bugger the whole of the tube network.
