As I stated previously, I don't know enough about the South, but "Martin" is a ****.

Mild Unionists. It doesn't necessarily come from the Protestant people either. David Norris wants Ireland to rejoin the commonwealth. It is more pie in the sky talk than anything else. politics in the free state has been completely dominated by civil war politics in Fianna Fail and Fine Gael with various smaller parties tempering their dominance. The arse just fell out of that now as Fianna Fail imploding, so there is room for the smaller parties to steal a march

Surely, the South would never rejoin the Commonwealth, well at least when it is infested by fenians?!

At the risk of talking to myself, he was boxing a guy from Cork and he said he was going to knock him out, steal his wife and raise his kids with Cavan accents....

    harsh.

That's where Sinn Fein appears to be coming into things. They had a very successful election and now they have a candidate in for the presidency where Fianna Fail haven't even got a decent candidate even if they wanted to put on up.

There is a movement for it amongst the chattering classes, but that is all it is, chat to noise folk up. Joking about a united Ireland, a "32 County Ulster" getting the benefits of the NHS and all that jazz.

Thats one area where irish politics is a letdown. Party names. i appreciate that it's probably gaellic, but Fianna Fail? The second part sounds just right.

The sad thing about McGuinness's campaign is that no one asks him what he would do as President but instead they ask him about his past. Understandable but he should be given a chance to express his ideas for the post.

Why is Bono missing from that list? It can't be for tax reasons, as no politician in the history of Ireland has ever paid any.

Vote for me. I'm standing on a platform of more house building and cheese distribution.

That's like me slapping a fat kid across the face for years. Then stopping and people saying "Well he has to me comended for his anti-bullying beliefs, he stopped slapping that fat kid."

    Okay.

That's like Charles Manson telling his "family" to stop killing people and people saying "Well he has to me comended for all he has done for peace, he stopped killing people."

McGunniess was in a terrorist organisation that were responsible for thousands of deaths. But he is to comended because his group stopped murdering people after 40 years.

I hear Maddog Adiar has also given up directing terrorism I'm sure you think he done a wonderful job towards peace as well.

Let's not forget that being a high ranking member of the RA he must also be aware of who was responsible for the £28m Northern Bank raid too, a very clear act of criminality.
