Ireland

Outside the Ebrington pub in Londonderry, aged 18 and in NI for less than a week, a guy asked me if I had 10p for a cup of tea. I gave him exactly 10p being so innocent and out of my home zone (Chichester about as different as could be from NI) I really believed he was going to buy some tea and couldn't understand why he was still there about an hour later.

Are you?Try to get to Galway races while you're at it,not for the faint hearted or infirm?

Yeah, I do fancy Galway. I've heard you need to be a thorough stayer to make it through even a couple of days. Clashes with Glorious Goodwood though, which is my favourite meeting of the year.

Where you in uniform?

Have been in Ireland quite a few times . Was in Portadown in 86 when it went fubar on the Garvachy road for the first time . That was interesting .

Had a great kebab in Dublin from a place called Abrakebabra (I think) . Mind you I had been on the swally all day so perhaps it wasn't actually great .

Been to Belfast - ****hole.

Dublin - okay but overpriced ****e everywhere.

Bray - nice for a day out. Big, mad cross on top of a hill.

There's an Abrekebabra in Galway too - was warned off eating out of it, though.

I've been loads and, regrettably, I'm going a week tomorrow for a fortnight.

Not seeing family, so no Monaghan or Derry this time - going to Donegal with the inlaws (never been to Donegal) - but I've been to most of Ireland but I've never been to Dublin - I just keep hearing that everything is twice the price of the rest of the Republic.

Curiously enough, I'm going to be in the North on the 12th.

Should be fairly interesting <ok>

It's a nice country and a good place to spend a week or two to chill - I'm just not sure a full fortnight with my in-laws won't result in me crushing their skulls.

I went to lansdowne Road on 15 February 1995 - and that goal was definitely offside.

Also been to Cork and Waterford a fair few times.
