FT Swansea 5 Palace 4 who nearly equalize at the death - now why can't we do matches like that - brings back memories of Olly's PL Blackpool swashbuckling days.
The commentators are saying that Smithies is our MOM. This is damming to the other players after his massive blunder for the 2nd goal.
Hopefully club will give the manager funds as I can't hand on heart say we have good players Home form will be critical but can't see us going down
Bad day for our fellow West London teams who both lose 2-1. Well done Blackburn with a 1-0 result at Newcastle - as they say, in the Championship, on any given day any team can come out winners (except us of course).
I won't have ago at Holloway as it's only his second game. However How did we lose 3-0 to Ipswich? When was the last time they won or even scored a goal? They were there for the taking today and we get stuffed 3-0? Simply not good enough. I don't care who is in charge, it's simply not good enough. Maybe the players should stop wasting their time on mannequin challenges/hugs/soundbites and learn to defend. Not happy.
Howler from Smithies as QPR lose at Ipswich By West London Sport 26/11/2016 Embed from Getty Images Ipswich 3 QPR 0 A terrible mistake by keeper Alex Smithies contributed to QPR’s first defeat since Ian Holloway’s return as manager. Trailing to Grant Ward’s 14th-minute goal, they found themselves two down nine minutes into the second half when Smithies made a total mess of an attempt to head a long ball clear. It presented Luke Varney with a simple tap-in, and worse followed for Rangers when Tom Lawrence fired home to make it 3-0. Sandro, on as a substitute, went close to pulling a goal back when his header from Tjaronn Chery’s corner hit the post. Overall though, Rangers were disappointing and struggled to create clear-cut chances. The opening goal came when Smithies punched a high ball as far as former Tottenham youngster Ward, whose scuffed shot went through a crowd of bodies and ended up in the net. The visitors had made a decent start, with Chery firing over the Ipswich bar early on. Ipswich should have gone 2-0 up before the break when Christophe Berra missed a great chance by heading Lawrence’s cross wide of the target. And their lead was preserved by keeper Bartosz Białkowski, who produced a fine save to deny Conor Washington nine minutes before the break and also saved from Jordan Cousins early in the second half. Smithies, on the other hand, fluffed his lines when called upon and once Ipswich were two up there was no way back for the R’s. Holloway responded to the second goal with a double substitution, sending on Idrissa Sylla and Sandro for Sebastian Polter and James Perch, but Ipswich soon increased their lead. Smithies, usually so impressive, prevented a fourth goal with fine saves from David McGoldrick and Freddie Sears late on. QPR: Smithies, Onuoha, Hall, Lynch, Perch (Sandro 59), Cousins (Ngbakoto 66), Henry, Bidwell, Chery, Washington, Polter (Sylla 59). Subs not used: Ingram, Wszolek, El Khayati, Shodipo.

**** me are we now judging a manager's performance based on games he watched prior to getting the job? at this rate we'll be giving out contracts and P45's at the same time.
From reading this thread it sounds as if 2 of their goals were fortunate to say the least and the other one due to a Smithies error.......these things happen..... Seems we missed Mass and Ariel in the middle especially if we have to rely on Karlos as 3rd choice for that position......plus the loss of Robinson took away some of our attacking options as Bidwell is more defensively minded...... Would you rather be a Palace fan after what happened to them today? Time for a glass of wine, watch the Ireland v Australia Rugby and a decent bite to eat. The R's lost, it happens, we go again on Thursday against Wolves who are really crap........so guess what will probably happen?????
From the scoreline, it sounds like we played like a bunch of mannequins today - alright that kind of larking around when we're at the top of our game. Even if we do ship a few cheap goals our attack force should still be able to grab a few back, as demonstrated in the Swansea 5 Palace 4 match today. Why cannot we even score a consolation goal against a mediocre team?
Well I certainly didn't see that result coming lads! I feel a little embarrassed after what you did to our budgie friends last week! Mixed emotions though as it will ensure that Dinosaur Mick will be in a job for a few more games at least! It's a bit like Delia Smith driving off a Cliff in my brand new Ferrari!! You're a decent bunch of lads on this forum, always up for a laugh and very knowledgeable about the game. Good luck for the rest if the season and I know that Ollie will turn things around for you.
That sounds like a really good way to mellow out after a disappointing result - after Red Thursday, Black Friday and Cyber Monday coming up, I just want to stay home as stores are crazy with all the shoppers with money to burn. I hope Wolves are really crap as we play them twice over the next month - every dog seems to have it's day though, and as is our nature, we often oblige making those dog day afternoons for us. Spurs 1-0 up at Chelsea - now that puts a smile on my face, perhaps West London sides 4/4 losers today - wonder what the odds might have been on that wager?
