Lots of people have been very vocal in slating Wyke until recently. Some of our fans are very, very quick to write off players. Not saying you are, but just a comment in general. O'Neil had a ****e debut, yet he's one of our best players. Hume last season got lots of stick at times. Give them time to bed in and support them. He might come good.
The only thing that can beat us now are the conditions. They're trying to get one of us sent off so we have to be careful. A stupid sliding tackle penalty is the last thing we need. Keep the ball and make them chase us, they have no option now.
I think the ref will even it up. Not cos he should but they are moaning about every challenge and pressure will probably tell in time. Lets get a couple of quick goals to kill it off.
Johnson's getting in his head, building his confidence. He talks about him a lot and you can see he's trying to motivate him.

They're getting to be a bit of a partnership, O'Brien doing the donkey work and Wyke getting amongst the goals

Definitely. Also think the poor form of Grigg and Graham has given him a clear run in the team without any pressure to perform. For some players that would be disastrous but he seems a natural grafter and he’s used this as an opportunity to relax and just play. Feels less tension and anxiety around his chances now.
Probably with the cameras being off, he can have a good rearranging down there so he'll be more comfortable
