Some 'things you may have missed' - Slot not shaking player's hands or acknowledging the travelling fans - looks like we've hired Slot a couple of bodyguards.

Not sure what to make of that.

I may have imagined it, but I thought trent pushed further up in the second half, rather than being very flat back four in the first.

Gave an additional outball, rather than just the two midfielders.

Helped to by pass their press and we coukd progress the ball forwards rather than hoofing it to salah.

Once the press was negated, they fell to bits and we took control.

The highlights will show their keeper is a a hero but ignore him kicking the all straight out of play about 10 times.

They got it tactically spot on first half bit couldn't cope second half. When burns pulled up and they continued with a lame duck it all fell apart instantly.

Our first goal was an archetypal Slot passing goal.

Slot saying Quansah was subbed as he was struggling to win duels.

I make it a rule never to come on here until after the game (with extremely rare exceptions), but I can imagine the full spectrum of gloom, anger and recrimination. <laugh>

Yeah. Hopefully Quansah doesn’t take it to heart - just one of those things.

But good for manager to realise something and then make the early change which helped. We always praised klopps attacking subs but that’s a good sign for slot going forward if can change things with his tactical changes / subs.

There are many more years for him to play," added Slot, who declined to go into detail about Salah's future.

Read into that… salah new contract on the horizon?

Only seen a few highlights but some of the play was really nice when we clicked. How Diaz and Jota missed those chances before we went 1-0 up. They were following some nice plays as well

Jurgen (Klopp) hated the 12.30 kick-off and we played like we hated the 12.30 kick-off as we weren't in the game in the first half. People told me there were no easy games in the Premier League and that showed today. Ipswich made it so difficult for us in the first half and there's more of that to come.

Hopefully Slot doesn’t moan about them. Needs to get it into the players head that it’s no diff from any other time as it’s a mental thing.

I heard Szobo saying in interview after about how 12:30 is basically still morning… love klopp but he really did give whole squad a ready made excuse for not winning those 12:30 games over the last few years.

They've just assured themselves for 20 noon kick offs this season.

    Stupidest post match comments possible.

    Idiotic.

Slot’s getting the mindset out of that so don’t think stupid at all.

Some mature refection on the game then.

Slot tactics in the first game were not as expected at times. macca was either high or quite wide. slot even allided to this post match aboit gravenberch allowing macca to go higher up.

Szoboszlai is a 10. Totally different player in a high press.and being free to join thr box. He needs now to build his performances for us.

Robertson is a long way off match fitness.

Quansah looked thick and pigshit on thr bench. He can be hard on himself as he demands high standard but I also think Slot pulled no punches either. Do we think the post match comments were any worse than that was said at ht? This is something lfc players need to get used to as they won't be defended and minded like under the previous regime. Slot will talk to them like adults

Slot did make changes at ht and his changes paid off. Delap was negated and the press was broken.

Ipswich read the Slot handbook easily and the players didn't really have a plan b even if it was fairly obvious watching. They need to develop this on the pitch themselves quickly. It was fairly obvious we could go wide or use the ball in behind as there has to be space when 4 men press up

We look extremely vunerable to counters. Off corners they could have scored 2 or 3 goals if they were able to execute.

Every corner was an inswinger yesterday. However they looked like they actually worked.on getting pace on the ball for once. Nothing came of them.but there were a few chances dropping.

Gravenberch stayed in the game.and delivered a more controlled performance as they faded.

A lot of development still to come in terms of getting the systems tweaked and interplay better.

We need the solid competition at the end of the day, so **** day for Quansah, and he’ll learn from it , but good day for Konate.

I like the fact it’s day 1 and there is no sugar coating from Slot, that first half was not the level if we’re serious about challenging. The system etc will be being learnt and that’s fine, but coming out of 50/50’s second best consistently is not ok.

Really good second half, team clearly enjoying their football and some lovely goals, nice start <ok>

It'll be interesting tonsee where we are on 30th Aug

Right now we are biting into the senior squad even if it's cover.

I can see us very short in the first 11 about a quarter into the season if things continue as is.

New cm, new cm,.new winger. Same story as may. The crescendo is expected, nay promised.

Be nice if a couple of contract renewals were also done.
